Grayson's POV
A tinge of orange highlighted my hooded eyelids as I stretched awake, breathing in the pine scented air. Shivering a bit from the slight cold of the morning, I look to the side to see Ethan's head on my shoulder and Michelle still in the same position as she fell asleep in.
Looking off to the side and out the window, the sun streaming in as it sparkled across the window pane. The trees swaying left and right from the light wind outside, chilling the air as a window or two were left open from when we arrived.
Getting out of the bundle of bodies on top of me I got up and walked over to the front door, walking out and leaning my elbows on the wooden fenced porch, breathing in the fresh clean air as the wind blew more clearly, closing my eyes as I took in the environment, feeling like I actually took a break from everything that happened a mere couple hours ago. Bringing my hands to my chest, tipping my head forwards do my nose lies upon my closed fists.
Strong warm arms wrapped around my back and hooked their fingers around mine, kissing my neck lovingly before he rested the side of his face on my shoulder.
I breathed in the comforting scent of Ethan as it waged around me, mixing with the natural scent the breeze carried as I took this in, being with Ethan, glad to be with someone I care so much for, happy to be alive and with two people I care so much about.
My fingers tightening their hold on Ethan, never wanting to let go, scared after so many encounters of losing someone so close to me again.
"Are you ok?" Ethan breathed out, the soft puff of his breath fanning across my neck as he left another silk touch of his lips on my cheek.
"Yeah...just...I don't know, we've been through so much and... and I'm just tired, and scared" I weeped silently as tears ran down my face silently, the gentle nubs of Ethan's thumbs cleaning the salty water away, cheek to cheek as we stay there, the sound of our breathing the only thing that could be heard
"I know, it's hard and I'm tired too Gray... I wish things could be different, I wish I could make you feel safe like I'm supposed to..." I felt warm pellets of water drip down my cheek as I turned to see Ethan crying
"Hey" I said as I caressed Ethan's face, hands in both sides as I looked up into his beautiful hazel eyes "you're doing plenty, and I do feel safe with you, I don't even think I'd be alive if it weren't for you, I need you Ethan, you matter so much to me, and now with Michelle you have two people to look after" chuckling at the end as Ethan laughed through the tears
"I love you Ethan, don't think you're not enough for me because you are, you're everything" I stated as I hugged him firmly, seconds after having his strong arms engulf me in a similar hold as he slowly dragged his nose down the side of my face, stopping above my ear as he placed a kiss right behind my ear, whispering to me a gentle "I love you too..."
We stood out there, swaying in silence as our body heat warmed us up from the cool breeze. Small taps and a door creaking open caught our attention as we felt two small arms wrap around our legs.
Looking down there stood Michelle, a toothy grin as she giggled "I love you too" she exclaimed at the two of us
Laughing I picked her up and placed her between us, "We love you too" Ethan and I kissed both of her cheeks as she giggled and squirmed in my grasp. Jumping down she ran back inside, slamming the door closed and a thump heard a couple moments after.
Heading inside, Ethan's hand entangled with mine, as we see Michelle looking through my bag, soon taking out the little family of three bears and setting them down on the floor, playing with the three as she shakes them about, doing funny voices for each of them as her imagination takes over
I leaned my head against Ethan's shoulder, grasping the side of my head, placing a kiss on the ruffles of hair on my head as we stare at little Michelle playing with our bears
It was like I had a family of my own, Ethan and Michelle, here with me in this cabin in the woods, loving each other, sleeping together, it was my new family I've been lucky enough to find
I didn't need anyone else, they were my rock, the pieces that kept me standing, what kept me going, I loved them and them I
