Ethan grabbed the gun from the floor, checking the ammo and looking around in the pockets of the mans uniform, checking for anything of use. Some ammo, a lighter and cigarettes were found, we took the ammo and lighter, leaving the cigarettes.
We were walking the path back to the town, the rocks scrunching beneath our feet as we tried our best to stay quiet. The town came into view as we kept walking, staying behind some trees out of view we inspected from a far for any other people.
We saw their car parked in the middle of the town next to the fountain. The door to the house three down from the one Grayson was staying at was open. People could be seen from the windows.
Ethan and I snuck around the border in hopes to not be seen. We ran into the house through the back door, with careful footsteps we walked upstairs to get my things so we could leave.
I grabbed my bag quickly stuffing all my food and water into my bag and suitcase. I went to the bed, untucking Harry from his slumber and putting him away in my backpack as I turned around to see Ethan staring back at me. I blushed and looked down in embarrassment, I walked around him heading downstairs to leave and get away from the town.
The door to the front door opened as I was at the last couple steps, quickly turning around and shoving Ethan back up as I rushed to not be seen.
They were talking amongst each other as they searched the house, tossing everything around and destroying anything of value for future comers. One was heading to the stairs to check up here, I quickly ran away, grabbing Ethan's hand and tugging him into a near by closet.
We breathed heavily as the space had been very minimal and we were very close to one another, trying not to make noise.
I looked up and was touching noses with Ethan, my face burned up at the interaction and I looked at the bottom of the door to see any shadows pass by as I tried backing up as much as I could.
The light that shined beneath the bottom of the door was broken by black color being the covering of the man walking by. I heard a door creak open, I slowly opened the door, peaking out looking left and right to check for anyone.
I walked out, Ethan following as I slowly crept down the stairs. We walked to the back door when a voice came up next to us and I was pushed back and up against a chest as a hand cupped over my mouth.
Ethan whispered into my ear to stay quiet as he gingerly removed his hand from my mouth. He moved his arms down to my waist, holding me close as we stayed silent.
The people walked right next to us going past us and going up the stairs to help check the place.
When they fully ascended Ethan grabbed my hand as we went out the back door running to the woods and hiding behind some trees.
Ethan took out a map from his bag and looked it over. I was breathing heavily from the panic of almost getting caught and killed.
Ethan pointed to a town and showed me the direction we need to go. We decided on waiting for the people to leave or move onto another house before going.
The people got out of the house through the front door and went to the car opening up the trunk, taking out some food, drinks and making a bonfire outside. It was getting dark as the sun had already set and the moon was coming into view. They placed their sleeping bags on the floor close to the fire sitting down and talking to each other. We snuck around them, the dark of the night ridding us of being seen.
We made it to the road that lead to the next town, looking back to make sure we weren't being followed and continued on our way.
