My New Assignment

  I moved to Okasis last month. My father thought it would be a good idea to "meet" my betrothed. Even though I have known him for years and I work for him, but my father doesn't need to know that.

  I was sitting in my bedroom polishing my sword when an Okasisian guard so rudely just walked in.

"What do you need?" I asked not looking up from what I was doing.

"Well, High Priest Zane would like to see you Lady Scarrlet," he said.

"Very well. Lead the way," I told him. He led me down a couple of halls until we reached his office. The guard stepped out of the way. I walked right in without knocking because I just didn't care about formalities, "You needed me, Zane?" I told him.

"Ah, yes. Hello sweetheart. I have a new mission for you," he told me smirking.

"What is it, the love of my life?" I replied. We both burst out laughing. We joked around like this a lot. I mean yes we do love each other, but we both don't like those mushy-gushy, lovey-dovey nicknames. Except for the fact that no matter what, when there were guards around Zane called me sweetheart.

"You have to go to Phoenix Drop for me. I need you to bring Garroth back. Kill anyone in your path. No one but the Jury knows that you can fight and wield a sword, so use that to your advantage," he told me, "You leave in ten minutes. You will have guard escorts and you will sail to Phoenix Drop on your ship. Please act like a lady."

"Yes, sir."

*Time skip*

It has been about 3 days on this boat and I was sick of it. Luckily we just docked so I was able to get off of this ship. Zane made me pack dresses and only a couple of training outfits.

When I stepped onto the docks, the skirt of the dress flowing around my ankles, I was approached by a woman, who was followed closely by two guards. I looked behind me to see two, of my many guards, behind me.

"Hello! I am Aphmau, Lord of Phoenix drop. This is my head guard, Garroth. And his second in command, Laurence. What is your name?" she said.

"Hello Lady Aphmau, Sir Garroth, Sir Laurence. My name is Lady Scarrlet. The only daughter of the Lord of New Burrow, and soon to be the wife of the High Priest of Okasis, Zane Ro'Meave. These are two of my personal guards, Sir Kole and Sir John." I told them.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you Lady Scarrlet. I have to go, so I will leave you in the very capable hands of Garroth here," she said to me. She then turned to Laurence and said, "Come on Laurence, we need to go and check on Lucinda to make sure that she doesn't blow up the town, again."

Those two left, which left me alone, with the person I came here to see, Garroth Ro'Meave. He smiled at me and I smiled back. He probably thinks that I don't know who he is, but he is so wrong.

"So, why are you here in Phoenix Drop? There are much grander towns for you to visit, but why here? Heck, even where you originate from AND where you now live are grander than here," he said.

"Well, Zane wanted me to learn how to defend myself. He would have someone from the Jury of Nine train me, but he is afraid they will somehow corrupt me. So, he wanted me to train under the watchful eye of the best guard to come out of the Guard Academy," I said innocently.

"Alright, I will help you. Okay, would you like to stay somewhere in the village or on your ship?"

"I will be staying on my ship if you do not mind. I just don't trust strange new villages."

"I completely understand. I would be uncomfortable in a new village as well. We will start training in the woods near the wall at 12:00 PM sharp. Go get ready, I don't think a dress like that is practical for fighting," he told me. He then left me on my own. It was currently 09:00 AM. I decided to walk around the town. I motioned for K and J (Kole is K and John is J) to follow me. We walked into the town. We walked around for a bit until we stumbled upon the Plaza. Heheheh. Time to get to know the people. I need to know more about the town and people if I want to be able to bring Garroth back to Okasis.

A guy who I am assuming is a guard walked up to me.

"Hello, fair maiden. I haven't seen you around here before," he said. He then looked up at my guards. He smirked, turned back to me and said, "I am guessing that you are a woman of power. Hm, hang on. You look familiar do I know you?"

"I think so. My name is Scarrlet Williams," I replied.

"We have the same last name, I'm Dante Williams, Son of The Lord of New Burrow," he said.

"Wait... OMI! D, is that you?" I asked.

"Wait, Scar?!?! OMI IT IS YOU!!!" he replied.

"I haven't seen you since the day of Gene's funeral. I know you looked up to him a lot. How are you holding up?"

"Scar, that was almost 5 years ago. I am perfectly fine. I graduated guard school. Came here to work for Lady Aphmau instead of Zack our oldest and stupidest brother. Marvin is now the Head Guard since Gene is dead. And father is still father."

"Well nice to know that our family is still messed up. . . BY the way, when you were gone. . .I. . . kind of got engaged to The High Priest of Okasis Zane Ro'Meave. Heheheh. . ."

"R-really?!?! YOUR ONLY 17 SCARRLET!!!!!! WHY?!?!?!?"

"One: I was originally betrothed to Vlyad Ro'Meave, the youngest Ro'Meave. But, he died from being assassinated. Two: I became betrothed to him and I grew to love him. Three: It doesn't matter how old I am. Plus, father wants this. Now, are you going to keep patronizing me? Come on Sir K and Sir J. Let's go back to the ship and prepare for our training." We then left. 

When we got back to the ship I went to my room. I got into my training outfit which is a gray crop-top and black shorts. I put my scarlet colored hair in a ponytail.

I grabbed my sword that Zane had given me to train with. And I headed to the spot where we're to meet and train.

Now, I know its not the exact storyline, but it is MY storyline. Until we meet again My Protectors.
