Jennie cringed as her phone rang again and again. Between Lisa's knocking on her door and calling her name, and the phone on the coffee table in front of her ringing, she was getting a headache. It didn't help that she'd been crying for who knows how long, curled up in her couch since she got home that afternoon. She didn't want to see Lisa.
She didn't want to talk to her. She didn't want to talk to anybody. She didn't even have enough energy or motivation. At this point, to move her hand and ignore the call.
" Just leave me alone" she whispered as she shrank even further under the covers she'd wrapped around earlier.
She was tired of crying. Her body was sore from the heaving sobs she's releasing for the past hours or so. Still the tears kept on coming. It was as if her heart was ready to cry her to death to rid itself of the pain that was tearing her whole heart apart.
" Just leave me alone" she repeated as the ringing stopped but the knocking started once again. She sighed and closed her eyes, willing herself to fall asleep. Maybe when she woke up, this would all be just a nightmare she had from the stress of school. Of course, life wasn't going to make it easy for her.
" Jennie, Please open this door, I know you're in there" She heard Lisa call from the hallway.
She gritted her teeth and breathed deeply, trying to calm herself. She felt sick. She had a lot of emotions going through her right now and Lisa's presence just a few feet away was not helping it at all.
Mustering enough energy to give one final effort into facing her, Jennie finally stood up and grudgingly wiped the tears from her face. Lisa may be able to see her puffy eyes and figured out she's been crying, but she wouldn't give Lisa the satisfaction of actually seeing tears rolling down her cheeks.
As she approached the door, her phone began to ring again. She put hand on the knob, breathed in deeply and turned it, finally opening the door.
The sight of Lisa standing there with a bag of food in one hand and a small smile on her face, almost made her think twice about shouting at her. Lisa looked so gentle, so caring. The smile she gave her, as if she was who made her the happiest, made her heart constrict, her stomach flip over and fill with butterflies.
Jennie felt her resolve melt and she was almost to the point of smiling back when she remembered what she ha witnessed in front of their school today and a bitter taste began to fill her mouth: the bitter taste of being deceived.
" What the fuck do you want? What the fuck could you possibly still want from me? Huh? You foul, loathsome, disgusting, lying, manipulative asshole.!" Jennie shouted, before Lisa could even speak.
" How could you stand there smiling at me, calling me as if you really wanted to be with me, when you've been lying to me this whole time? I fell for it! Pity me! Stupid me! I was really an idiot falling for that. You must be so proud of yourself! Twirling me in your fingers as if it was that easy for you to get me! And of course you thought I was really easy! Why wouldn't you? You met me in a club! I kissed you on the first night we met! I had you stay over for the night! Of course that would come across to you as if I'm a girl who couldn't care less who she was with as long as she was with someone! But let me tell you that I'M NOT THAT GIRL!! I will never be that girl! And I am done! I am done being the buffer for your girlfriend! I am done being your girl that you can run to when you're in a fucking conflict with Bella and don't have the guts to face her and fix it! Fuck you Lisa! Get the fuck out of my life! Fuck you!" Jennie didn't care that tears were already streaming down her cheeks, she didn't care that her neighbors' door were opening and they were peeking out to see what the commotion was all about.
