Deji
My eyes enlarged, humongous crystal clear tears started to build up in my eyes. They fell down my rosy pink Cheeks like how rain falls in May. It wouldn't stop, so quickly I couldn't breathe it's almost as if I had forgotten how to in the first place. Seeing Koro's face on the T.V screen with the caption found underneath 'boy found dead.' I started hyperventilating the tears got bigger. "Ko-koro is- dead. No. No. N-no. No. No!" "Oh Deji.." I felt my mom's arms go around me. " it's okay Deji shhh"
That was the day Koro death was announced on the news. I remember it so vividly. Though it happened about 2 weeks ago, I couldn't seem to let the fact go that he was really gone. I heard my mother's footsteps come to my door there was a slight knocking. "Hello Deji" my mother came inside at the foot of my bed. Her hair was in a messy bun with no makeup and she was still wearing her pajamas but yet she still looks so radiant. My mother has Violet tentacles but she has eyes of her own they can be full of laughter and happy one minute and then blazing with fire the next. I have my mother's eyes. " Hello mom.." I lifted my head to meet my mother's eyes. " I know you usually don't want to go Deji, but I was going to go to the new mall. We need new clothes anyway, do you want to go? I sat there and thought about it for a moment, usually I don't leave my room. But today felt different I missed Koro dearly but I don't think he'd want me to live like this. " sure Mom... I'd like to go" my mother's face looks shocked. " oh, well that's a surprise. Get ready and then we will go. Sayuri already went out and your father doesn't want to go so it'll just be us." My mother left the room. Not too long after that I could smell coffee. That's always my mother's routine she comes in, she checks on me, usually I don't talk then she leaves and makes her coffee. She usually brings me breakfast but I don't ever eat it. She comes in around dinner takes my breakfast plate that I haven't touched. And brings me my dinner plate, and in the morning she takes that away and brings me a breakfast plate that process kind of just repeats. I got up I figured the first thing I needed to do was pick out an outfit. I went to my closet and looked at my options. I figured that a pair of light blue skinny jeans and a black T-shirt would be fine. Of course I would wear a jean jacket with it so no one could see the cuts on my arms. I took my outfit to the bathroom set it on the marble counter and got in the shower. The hot water trickles down my back like water droplets fall off of leaves. Somehow a hot shower with my favorite scented soap, watermelon made everything better. I turned the knob to the center which made it go off. Stepped out on the black memory foam mat, grabbed my pink towel with my name engraved on it and dried off. I threw my hair into the bond I usually put my hair and when I went to my ballet lessons which I quit going to. Put my clothes on, throw a little blush mascara and eyeliner on and then returned the heart-shaped necklace Koro had gotten me around my neck... where it belongs. I stepped out of the bathroom and into the kitchen, I saw my mom there she was ready and she was making breakfast. "Do you want any day Deji?" I haven't eaten in awhile, I've lost a lot of weight because of it period but today was different.
Koro
A new octoling was giving me instructions, he had orange tentacles. His eyes were bright green. " listen up Koro I need you to go to the new mall, since it's inkling and octoling friendly. I need you to see if you can get this sort of Drive Chip, any of these sorts of weapons. I also need this list of Technology." He handed me two sheets of paper one with weapons, the other technology. I placed the two lists in my pockets. When I reached in my pockets I felt a piece of paper, I knew exactly what it was, it was a picture of me and Deji the first time we went to prom. I smiled....I missed her so much. "Agent 66-6 are you listening!?" "Uh yes sir!" "Good, now go." I left to the door on the right. The air train was about 5 miles away. I pulled out the picture that was in my left pocket. Deji was wearing a light blue dress with gold lace up heels. She always looked like a godess. Her hair was up in a beautiful braided bun with small diamonds criss-crossing the braid. Ugh how would I love to see her again. The train arrived just in time. I stepped in and looked around. No body seemed to notice I was there. I got a few dirty looks from unsettling inklings. I thought how funny? I used to be an inkling with trust issues just like them. But now that I am in someone else's shoes, it's a whole new page. About 20 minutes has past, the train comes to a complete stop. I step out into the brisk fall air leaves fall like tears. I start walking to the mall I notice all of the happy couples walking together side by side with sparkle in their eyes. I remember when Deji and I used to do that. A couple of soft tears fall down my cheeks. I walked with my head down and thought about every perfect moment I had with my queen, Deji. By the time I looked up I was by the mall doors. I stoped inside, went to the weapons section grab that was on the list. Then I went to the computer section grab that weird Drive thing. Then I went to the technology section, I found most of what I was looking for. I still needed one more thing I took a left turn, I noticed an inkling wearing a grey hoodie that looked very familiar. I could tell she was a girl by her figure. She was looking at ear buds huh that's something Deji always did. She loves them even though she has so many pairs. The girl took off the hood very gently, very bright pink tentacles fell out of a bun. It's suddenly had hit me. It was....Deji...I stood there unable to move. My mouth was wide open my eyes huge. She turned around head down, then slowly lifted her head... her beautiful violet eyes to connected with mine. Her pupils grew large and her hand started to shake. I saw her lips make the Motions of the words I know that face. We stood there for a moment like deers in headlights. "Deji?" A huge smile spread across that beutiful face "KORO!?" she ran to me and I opened my arms. She jumped in them and all I could seem to do was kiss her. And she kissed me back.
