Astonishing.
Sylver did not know how else she should describe the woman sitting on the bed that was on the right side of the room, her own new room, that she saw infront of her now.
Just... astonishing.
Even though the left side of her face and her entire left arm were covered in bandages, the woman was, plain and simply said, beautiful.
She had glowing black hair that slightly flowed over her slim shoulders, full lips, sharp cheekbones, skin almost as white as snow, her face was just perfect.
As was her body, dressed in a blank tank top and black jeans, in Sylver's eyes. Narrow. Everything. A slim girl with just the right amount of curves to make her look female enough in even the most disgusting man's eyes. Speaking of eyes. Hers were white, milky even. As if she was blind. Which wouldn't make much sense for two reasons. Number one was that she was Squad 0's scout, as Sylver was about to find out. The other one, more immediate and obvious, was that she was looking straight at her and Matt. That one visible eye was just so surprisingly pretty that Sylver almost got lost in it.
She wanted to say something, she probably should say something, even though it would probably only have come out as stammering followed by a deep blush. That girl was gorgeous.
But Matt was faster. "YOU????", he asked, disbelief basically oozing from this one word as if it was poison. "What are you doing here? How did you even... oh no... don't tell me you did it again... not again...", he called. She just smiled a brilliant smile, and he groaned, "Every time, Eyelash? Fuck my actual life..."
Eyelash.
The scout from Squad 0. He was right to be surprised, Sylver assumed. She doubted that any of the Outcasts lived with those training to get into any squad.
"Hello there beautiful!", Eyelash said with a glint in her beautiful white eye, and it took Sylver several embarrassing moments to realise she was talking to her, completely ignoring her captain.
"Uhm...", Sylver said cleverly. She could feel the heat rising into her cheeks. She had known. Stupid, stupid, predictable Sylver.
"Why, Eyelash?", Matt saved her, or he would have if Eyelash's gaze had actually wandered to him, "Why did you ask for a psychological profile again? Why do I always find you harrassing the newbies?"
Eyelash chuckled, and it sounded like soft wind rattling through the lush green leaves of an apple tree, "Oh you poor naïve man! It is true that I like to stay near those who are not in squads yet, but this one time you are wrong! They ordered me being profiled after I... well... after my surgery. Of course I didn't get through, I'm absolutely mad, almost as much as your friend there is adorable, but it was not for this surgery's cause they sent me back down here... it was more of the... you know... cripplings and dark thoughts. So the usual. May you please be a gentleman now and introduce me to that attractive young lady next to you?"
All of these words she said without her eye ever letting go off Sylver. It was as if she was holding onto Sylver with just her gaze. And for that alone Sylver was blushing, probably in the deepest red imaginable. If only Eyelash really was blind... it would be so much less embarrassing.
Sylver wanted to say something once again, probably something smart in the direction of 'Uhm' or 'Aahhh', but Matt was not having Eyelash's attendance.
"You knew this would be her room. You heard rumours about her, probably especially about my interest in her skills, and you had to come immediately. Not only that, but spend as much time with her as possible, so you could feed your sadistic thoughts with her power! I will definitely talk with the Council about this, they'll send you right to Wildcards, I will make sure of that!", Matt raged, stepping forwards until he was blocking Sylver's sight, making Eyelash look at him.
Sylver could feel how the mood had shifted drastically, because when Eyelash talked again there was real, solid horror in her voice.
"Matt... please don't... I... I can't be near him... it... it hurts so badly... I can't... I just can not deal with that pain... with that torture... I promise, I'll take care of her. I won't kill, cripple or even harm her. I'll train her so she can survive. I heard others talking. Many want to challenge her already, either to try to recruit her, or to get rid of her. Someone like her could fuel a revolution and people from very high positions want to exterminate that threat before it can even form. I can protect her. You can't. I'll do this. You have Ass who can raid with you and take my role for now, she likes that anyways. Just don't make me go near Wildcards... please... I... I seriously fear for my life, or at least my sight, when I'm near him... please Matt...", she begged with her soft voice.
Matt seemed to think hard, so Sylver snuck a glance past him.
Eyelash's one visible eye was full of fear. Honest horror. And it was bleeding, making red tears roll down Eyelash's remarkable face. The eye found her immediately, and it blinked.
Or did it wink?
"Keep her safe", Matt said out of nowhere, and Sylver jumped, but he had looked at Eyelash and hadn't noticed her peeking, "Do what has to be done. If she is as powerful as we think she could be she needs all the help she can get while getting there!"
Eyelash stood up from the bed after wiping her face with her sleeve, and hugged him. Her eye was on Sylver again.
"Oh, she is powerful. We'll have much fun!", she whispered with that soft voice, and Sylver's head got even more red.
Matt pushed her away and turned around to leave.
"Don't trust her. Don't let her get into your head.", he whispered while passing her.
Sylver could feel Eyelash's gaze on her so she turned towards the door.
He opened the door and turned around to close it.
"Today is the first of your seven days. I would use it already, especially if people are after you. Concentrate on the physical first. The element can come later. Have a nice week. Make sure you survive.", he said to Sylver and closed the door. He did not say anything to Eyelash.
Sylver exhaled the breath she hadn't realised she had holden onto.
She turned around and immediately got grabbed by her left arm and pressed against the wall before Eyelash's beautiful face came really near to hers.
If they had wanted they could've kissed by just moving their mouths a bit. Eyelash smelled like the appletree that her soft voice was always rustling through. Sylver probably smelled of fear.
"So, tell me, dear", Eyelash whispered. Her milky eye was of such a magnificent rich colour, or lack of it rather, that Sylver felt the weird need to eat it. She should probably get that psychological test too. "Why is your name Sylver, with that beautiful 'Y' in the middle?", Eyelash continued, and Sylver shuddered, "There is not much silver on you I think, and it definitely has not got anything to do with your powers. Everyone who chooses a name has it near his or her abilities. Why don't you?"
Y the damned silver.
Why did people keep forcing her thoughts back into those days where her nightmares already resided anyways?
"So, sunshine? Why is it?", Eyelash asked.
She was so close. Closer than really anyone ever before, except for Goldie of course.
'Don't think of her!', Sylver scolded herself.
"B...be...because I ha...hate silver...", she managed to stammer.
Eyelash smiled a devilish smile that looked amazing on her, even with just half of her face visible.
Eyelash randomly kissed her nose and chuckled her soft chuckle again. In the middle of that apple tree sat a little peach. Fuck, she looked and smelled nice!
"Oh, I like you more and more with every moment we spend together!", Eyelash laughed, letting go and stepping back.
Sylver shivered. That woman knew her name. She was strong. And the fact that she was beautiful made her more dangerous. Especially if she was as mad as she herself and Matt said.
Sylver should stop finding Eyelash attractive as soon as possible.
Wishful thinking.
"As much as I enjoy you standing there, confused, not knowing whether to run or stay", Eyelash said with that pretty smile again, "We have work to do! I could never forgive myself for letting such a poor, marvelous soul die just because she wasn't trained well! So into the Training Grounds we go! Do you have any questions for me before I start softly ripping you apart for seven days in a row?"
'Yes, too many to answer!', Sylver thought.
Once again Sylver had to ask herself how the fuck she had gotten into this enormous mess. She should've died. She was shot multiple times. Instead she woke up in The Cave, the most dangerous stronghold to have ever been carved into a mountain. There was no escaping it. And she wasn't even a prisoner who got locked away. She was welcomed as an equal. As someone with immense powers. Someone dangerous. So now she stood before death once again.
Sylver wanted to ask why everything happened to her like this. Why she had to die in The Cave, as far away from her best and only friend as possible, instead of in the Watchtower, hoping Goldie survived... with Goldie being the last thing she saw...
But instead she asked a more simplistic question, "Are you blind? Like, can you see me?"
Eyelash stepped forward and pressed her against the wall again, but slightly more gentle than last time. Apples and that one peach again. Fuck.
"What does your mind tell you?", Eyelash whispered.
Obvious.
"Yes, you are blind", she answered with a gulp.
Eyelash smiled, "And what do your feelings tell you?"
"That you can see every move I make. That you can see me better than anyone else ever before.", Sylver whispered. She didn't know why she was so deeply honest, but it scared her almost as much as Eyelash.
She chuckled again. Leaves rustling. "Oh, that is good! I will remember that one! Amazing! Any more questions?", Eyelash said, seemingly a few moments away from full-heartedly laughing, or losing her mind. Sylver couldn't tell.
"No, I don't think... wait, you didn't even answer the question I did ask!", Sylver called out.
Eyelash laughed, and it sounded beautiful and psychopathic at the same time. She kissed her nose again and blinked (winked?) once.
"Come on now!", she laughed, "Time to get you hurt and me entertained!"
