Dear Diary,

We were on in five. I was so nervous. As I held the microphone in my hand, I watched as it shook violently. I couldn't do this.

I stormed away, trying to find some sort of exit. But of course, my lovely knight in shining armor came to stop me. So much for an escape.

"And where do you think you're going?" Isaac's voice was deep, and I knew he'd been warming up. I should've been warming up with him.

"I can't do this Isaac. I'm going to suck so bad." He chuckled and dragged me to a practice room.

We went over our scales, practicing over and over until those five minutes passed. There was a soft knock on the door, and our choir teacher came in, face completely beaming.

"Are you ready?" She grinned at us. I was about to say no when Isaac squeezed my hand. He nodded, speaking for both of us. "Wonderful! Let's get you two on stage!" She ushered us out of the room, and onto the stage. Waiving from the side, she was ready to hear our song. No one knew what we were going to sing. Hell, I didn't even know until this afternoon. But they didn't need to know that. We took our places on either side of the stage, sitting on the stools provided for us.

The piano started playing. Isaac had to sing first, so I had some time to calm myself. I looked throughout the crowd, scanning for familiar faces. Oh great, the entire school is here, all of my friends, hell, even Mason is here. I'm not ready, I can't, I-

Mom.

She was sitting in the front row, smiling at me. Althought her hangover was still bad, she was here. With a final glance at her, I turned to the other side of the stage, making eye contact with Isaac.

Do you hear me, talking to you.

Across the water, across the deep blue ocean,

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying.

He gave me a huge smile as he finished his part, his velvety voice instantly soothing my nerves. I took a deep breath as my part came around.

Boy I hear you, in my dreams.

I feel your whisper, across the sea.

I keep you with me, in my heart.

You make it easier when life gets hard.

With that, we were singing in complete sync. We harmonized beautifully. Where one would lack, the other would pick up. The entire crowd was completely inspired, awestruck, focused on the two of us.

As we finished our song, the entire crowd erupted in applause and cheering. Some were even yelling "encore!". I felt Isaac grab my hand, raising it into the air before leaning over so we dramatically bowed. We glanced over at my choir teacher, who was literally wiping tears from her cheeks.

I guess you could say the performance was a sucess.

Love, Gwen
