“We need someone to go where Silver is!” Knuckles called, rushing into the room they all were in.

“Why!?” Sonic stood up. “What’s wrong!?”

“Sonic!” Silver’s voice was heard through Knuckles’ communicator. “It’s him!”

There was a noise, and then the communicator shut off.

“I’m going!” Sonic instantly called, getting ready to run.

“Don’t go alone!” Cass called, “Take this.” She kicked Marklin towards him.

“And you can’t go?” Marklin said, slinking over to Sonic, “You are getting to Chuck level forgot.”

“I’m needed in a couple of acts, just go.” Cass called, Marklin puffed but followed Sonic.

Sonic grabbed Marklin’s arm and ran as fast as he could to where Silver was. It took about a couple seconds. Silver was thrown against a wall and fell to the ground painfully.

The mysterious jackal floating near him said, “Seeing is believing.”  and charged at him.

Sonic was quick, though, spin dashing the other out of the way. He stood in front of Silver protectively, dropping Marklin beside him. “Time to tag out, Silver! I’ve got it from here!”

“Well, look who’s back from the dead. The little blue savior.” The jackal spat. “But what’s that I smell? You reek of fear. Glad to see that I’ve left an impression.”

“The only impression that’s gonna be left here is in that stupid mask of your’s, fluffball!” Marklin yelled, standing and taking stance, the staff growing into his grip.

“This does not involve you.” The jackal growled.

Sonic crossed his arms. “You didn’t leave any impression on me. I don’t know anything about you! Not even your name!”

“You may call me Infinite. In the brief moments that remain to you.”

“See, Infinite. Now we’re getting to know each other!” Sonic sarcastically replied as Silver started to stand up. “So, what’s your favorite color? Do you like long walks on the beach? Wh-”

“You’re off topic, this isn’t speed dating you know.” Marklin hissed.

“I need to get back in the game somehow.” Sonic smirked. “Anyways, what’s the source of your power? You can skip the first two questions if you’d like.”

“The source of my power is none of your concern.” Infinite uncrossed his arms.

“Sorry, but you’ve just gotta share the secret of your power with me. I insist!” Sonic cockily replied. He then ran towards Infinite.

“Your insistence is futile.” Something red emerged from him, causing them all to float.

“What the hell is this witchcraft, you can’t just-” Marklin squalled and writhed.

“Woah! Woah!” Sonic interrupted, not understanding anything, and being a tiny bit scared that he couldn’t run. He started to freak out a bit.

“Sonic!? Are you okay!?” Silver shouted over the blue blurs frightened woahs.

Sonic didn’t have anytime to react or anything before he was pounded away from them by Infinite. The jackal followed him, and the red turned back to normal, Silver and Marklin dropping. Marklin stood, and looked to where they had went, he then looked to Silver, and walked over quickly, kneeling besides him.

“You ok kid?” He asked gently, he smiled at Silver.

“Y-Yeah, I’m fine.” Silver replied, looking to where Sonic and Infinite were.

“Lets just hope for the best, ok, who knows how this can end, but Sonic is too damn stubborn to lose.” Marklin said, he sighed and stood, he held a hand out for Silver.

Silver took his hand, groaning as he stood. “Yeah, but… did you see how he acted when Infinite did that weird red thing?”

“It probably just caught him off guard.” Marklin put a warm arm around Silver, but grimaced. “Hopefully.”

Silver frowned, looking down and leaning slightly onto Marklin. “I’m worried for him….”

“We all are, but, we have bigger things that need our worry right now.” Marklin sighed, he looked pointedly towards the battle. “But this will all be over in a few acts, like a bad play I guess.”

“I hope you’re right.” Silver sighed.

“I will teach you to hold that mouth of yours the next time we meet.” Infinite growled out. “You can count on it.”

The place went red again, and Sonic soon found himself on the ground, groaning. Infinite left as Sonic struggled to stand up. “I’ve gotta figure out the secret of his power….”

Marklin ran up, and skidded to Sonics side. “Not right now, idiot, we gotta get back, and you need attention to-”

“No! I’m gonna…” He yelped as he tried to stand up. “I’m gonna get him back for what he did!”

“No right now we are going back to the base.” Marklin said, she stood and went to pick up Sonic. Sonic struggled, trying his best to follow Infinite.

Silver frowned. “Sonic please.”

Sonic looked to Silver. “I-I have to-” He shook a bit before he collapsed. Marklin took a breath, and picked up Sonic for real this time.

“We are going back to base, so no complaints.” Marklin growled. Silver simply nodded and started walking back to the base. Marklin started on with Sonic in his arms, a little bit of a pant but better than dragging him.
