We're Still Going!

Null Space

In this Null Space place, Sonic was looking around. “Wow…. This is definitely not where we’re supposed to be.”

“Not supposed to be? NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!? WE ARE IN A VOID OF NOTHINGNESS! WE SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO BREATH, WE SHOULD BE BEING CRUSHED BY THE GRAVITY IN THIS PLACE!” Marklin took a breath to calm a bit. “We should be dead.” He said strikingly calmer about this whole thing. “Great now we really are in hell or whatever.”

“Whatever, let’s get outta here.” Sonic rolled his eyes, glancing to Gadget, who was looking around in amazement.

“Is there even a way?” Marklin snapped.

“I don’t know, but I’ll find a way.” Sonic started revving, grabbing onto Marklin and Gadget. He jetted off in a random direction.

“Of course.” Marklin hissed.

Sonic raced through the nothing, looking for something, anything.

“This place is a mess, look, only one fucking light source!” Marklin hissed as he saw the only shimmer of light in the space.

“We have to get out of here!” Sonic shouted, screeching to a halt. “We were so close to saving everyone!”

Gadget glanced to Sonic before looking to the weird light source. ‘Maybe that could be our way out?’

“That could be a way out.” Marklin translated quickly. “I mean, it could be?”

Sonic, with newfound determination, grabbed them again and sped towards the light. The light got brighter and brighter the further they went.

“Well would you look at that, it probably is.”

Orbot perked up as he saw a flash and three distinct forms. He gently tapped Eggman’s shoulder.

“Excuse me? Boss?”

Eggman shot a partial glace backwards and saw the three forms as well. He spun quickly, smacking MY PRECIOUS BOY out of the way.

“WHAT!? It can’t be! It’s impossible to get out of the Phantom Ruby’s Null space!” Eggman called, angry brewing in him as he watched them get closer. Infinite glared at the group with a small, annoyed grunt.

“Maybe by myself.” Sonic smirked. “But I had a little help from my friends. Something you wouldn’t understand because you don’t have any friends!” He put his hands on his hips confidently.

Eggman growled as his expression went dark, “This changes nothing! Dr. Eggman will still have the last laugh!” Eggman turned again, knocking Orbot off completely, he then sped away.

“Maybe he’d have more friends if he didn’t talk about himself in the third person.” Sonic commented with a grin. Gadget gave a thumbs up in response.

“Yeah, whatever.” Marklin huffed as he watched the two robots straggle after Eggman and Killroy.

“What happened?” Knuckles voice came through the communicator.

“Nothing.” Sonic said. “Literally.”

“We’ve got less than an hour before Eggman’s plan goes down….” Knuckles sighed.

“There’s no time left. We have to break into the fortress now!” Shadow quickly said through the communicator.

“This is indeed our last opportunity to bring peace back into this world.” Silver added seriously with a sigh.

“Peace is always worth the fight.” Cass snapped.

“Of course it is.” Sonic smirked, putting a hand on his hip. “So let’s beat that egghead!”

“Exactly, this is our last chance!” Knuckles shouted out. “Give it everything you’ve got! I’ll lead the entire resistance towards Eggman’s base; meet up with us at the coordinates Tails is sending to your communicator.”

“Gotcha! I’ll see you there, Knux!” Sonic called, as a map with set coordinates showed up on his communicator. “Oh, and Shads?” There was a sound of question from Shadow. “Be careful out there, alright?”

“I should be telling you that.” The other huffed.

“As cute as this is, now is not the time to get romantic, boys.” Rouge called out.

“She’s right.” Espio agreed. “We have a war to win.”

“Then what should we all do?” Kathie asked.

“We have to get to Eggman’s main base.” Knuckles said. “We’ll meet you there, Sonic.”

“Alright! Let’s end this!” Sonic called before hanging up the communicator and looking to Gadget and Marklin with a grin.
