"You must be freezing, too. We can grab some coffee on the way; how does Peete's sound?" he asked gently, as if I were some frightened animal.
My stomach growled just thinking about food. I hadn't eaten in almost 6 hours and I was craving something sweet. I looked down at the change in her pocket. It was only just enough to get to his address.
"Whatever, I don't have money and I'd rather die than owe you a favor anyway," I replied, looking out the side window. I'd had started to rain icy pellets. I could see crystals form on the glass in the New York chill. A mist had formed on the inside of the car window, but I wouldn't dare do something as childish as draw on it. I glanced over at Ashe and saw him finger painting on the mist, coloring in a family of rocks he'd named Jeremy, Sarah, and Christoph. I'm guessing the "er" didn't fit on the screen unless he's a fan of Frozen.
Knowing him, he probably was.
Ahh, and dear beloved reader, yes, the name's Sia. His I already know to be Asheton Blue. You might be wondering "Hey! You just met the bitch!"
You should be more surprised if I didn't know him, since 1. He's apparently supposed to be smoking hot and 2. because he's so nice to everyone it's honestly creepy to me, but the girls aren't ashamed to drool over him.
Bad boys? I'd take a bad boy over Ashe any day of the week, but I swear, ask any girl at the school and Ashe is her dream boy.
In short, you'd have to be living under a rock to not know him.
"Alright then, suit yourself," he shrugged, turning to face the window, smiling proudly at his creations. I never thought I'd actually get to talk to a person who was genuinely happy ever again.
Guess it might take some time to get him off my tail after this...
Unpleasantries ricocheted through my mind. There was no part of me that was grateful for my life at this moment. Not even an iota of my being felt as if I had a debt to repay, though I would get him back for this.
"Are you okay?" he asked, biting the edge of his lip in contemplation.
"Actually," I said raising my voice, "I'm not! This is the last thing I had in mind to be quite honest. Being in a car with some 'righteous kid'," I said with air quotes, " with 1st world privileges up his aaaaaaaaass...?"
I trailed off in complete and utter shock as we rolled up onto the curb in front of a well-lit building containing more than two dozen floors. Its grandiose decorations for the upcoming festivities were the opposite of what my eyes were expecting. I placed the money in Flo's hand, barely even noticing her brilliant smile and "au revoir!" as she pulled away from the curb leaving me speechless.
I closed my eyes to appreciate the cool, clean air rarely found in the depths of New York City. To appreciate way my hair tossed lightly in the evening breeze. He tapped my shoulder. I let out a content sigh and opened my eyes.
"You wanna go in?" Ashe asked, motioning to the glass doors leading into the gilded lobby.
"Oh.... Oh fuck you- you live here?? I thought you were taking me to Peete's or something," I said with a nervous laugh.
"You did say no before, and no is no now isn't it? " he said hopping up the front steps. He swung open the glass doors and turned around with a smirk so unlike him I forgot to look away.
"You comin'?"
"Y-yeah of course," I said in a trance.
I ducked my head so my blue haze of hair would hide the blush creeping onto my face.
