Luckily, there were no lives lost after the explosion at Jaesun's hideout. The detectives inside were quite badly injured, but thankfully the bomb wasn't big enough to kill anyone.
It was just a minor bomb Jaesun had set up to destroy any evidence if the police were to ever find him. His plan worked. All the evidence the police could have used against him was destroyed.
He was taken to the station and locked up in an interrogation room for questioning.
The two detectives that had been questioning Jaesun for the past hour or so exited the room.
"You can talk to him now." one of the detectives told Junhoe as they exited the room.
Junhoe had convinced the police to let him talk to Jaesun for a while. Under supervision of course.
However, he hadn't felt the nervousness creeping up on him until now. He took a deep breath and exhaled shakily.
"You don't have to do this." Jinhwan told him, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly to meet the younger's eyes.
He knew Junhoe had every reason to be nervous and he didn't want him doing something that could potentially upset him. He's been hurt enough already.
"I do, Jinhwan." Junhoe's voice sounded pained. "If not for myself then at least for the families who lost a loved one in that explosion."
Jinhwan's heart ached. Junhoe cared so much for others. He always wanted people to be at peace, even if he himself wasn't.
"Okay." Jinhwan simply said with a nod. He trusted Junhoe's word. "But I'm coming with you."
"I guess there's no stopping you, is there?" Junhoe joked.
"Nope." Jinhwan answered. He was going to be there for Junhoe whether the he liked it or not.
Junhoe chuckled slightly before taking another deep breath.
"Ready?" Jinhwan asked.
"Ready." Junhoe said before turning the doorknob and walking in with Jinhwan close behind him.
Jaesun looked up when he heard the door open. He was shocked when he saw Junhoe and Jinhwan walk in. He thought it would be the detectives returning to question him some more.
"Well, if it isn't my two favorite people." Jaesun smirked.
Jinhwan grimaced in disgust, earning a chuckle from Jaesun.
"You always were terrible at jokes." Junhoe said as he glanced at the cuffs that bound Jaesun to the table before he took a seat at the other side of the table while Jinhwan leaned against the wall.
"Ouch. That hurts." Jaesun said.
"Good." Junhoe replied.
"Junhoe, what happened? I thought we were friends." Jaesun asked as if everything he had done was non-existent.
"We were." Junhoe simply said. "But that was before you killed numerous innocent people, including my father and tried to kill me."
"I could never do such thing." Jaesun still kept up that innocent facade.
"Stop acting oblivious. You know what you did and so does everyone else. No more lying." Junhoe told him.
"You have no evidence." Jaesun reminded.
"Actually, you're looking at the evidence." Junhoe said, earning a confused look from Jaesun. "So, who's word do you think they'll believe; yours or mine?"
