I had thought I would be able to notice whenever anything was slightly off in my room, even when half asleep. But I was proven to be wrong. Something tapping my arm pulled me out of unconsciousness. At first, I hadn't thought anything of it other than that it was probably just my imagination. But it continued until my shoulder was being full on shaken.

"Quick, get up," somebody whispered, suddenly beside my ear.

"Huh?!" I exclaimed, shooting up to a seated position.

I definitely did not recognize that voice...And how did someone even come into the room without me hearing it?

What the actual fuck was going on?!

"No time to explain," the man grinned. "Want to get out of this dump?"

Considering the light in the room was off, I wasn't able to get a good look at him at first. But my eyes soon adjusted. My mind was filled with confusion. This couldn't be a servant in the mansion.

This man had long dark brown hair pulled into a ponytail with a black cap on his head. The black and red outfit he was wearing looked Chinese...It took me a moment, but I finally realized who was standing in front of me. There was no mistaking it. This was Zao Wang, as in 2p China.

"Well? I'm here to break you free," he prompted, most likely in response to my speechless staring.

Those words snapped me out of it.

"You're going to help me escape?!" I matched his hushed voice, quickly getting off of the bed.

"I heard about you from Gilen," he nodded. "Technically it was my friend he told, but I was the one who decided to come after hearing you were kidnapped by Oliver and then by Luciano. Third time's the charm, as they say."

"Wait, are you here to kidnap me or rescue me?" I demanded.

"Depends on how you look at it," he shrugged. "Throw some clothes on. Or do you want to run around in a nightgown?"

I glanced down at myself, having forgotten that I was dressed in one of the fancy white nightgowns that Flavio had given to me.

I don't think I had ever gotten dressed so fast in my life. Zao waited for me as I did so in the bathroom, but came right up to me once I walked out.

"Come on, hurry up," he held out his hand for me.

I grabbed onto it, only to let out a shocked noise as he used it to toss me over his shoulder, as if I weighed almost nothing.

"Time to go!" there was a wide grin on his face as he rushed towards the door.

I wanted to yell at him for suddenly grabbing me, but didn't want to cause a scene and let somebody know I was escaping. I would just have to put my trust in this guy for now. I couldn't really imagine that my situation could get any worse.

"Wrap your arms around me tight and don't let go no matter what," he whispered as he rushed down the hall and towards a window.

I did what he said as he unlocked it and pushed the window open. Even the dim light of dawn was bright to me considering I hadn't been outside in who knew how long, so I kept my eyes lidded until I adjusted to it.

"We're going to take the roof so it's harder to catch us."

"Okay..." I muttered, my nerves beginning to eat at me as he jumped out the window and grabbed at the edge of the roof above him.

I decided it might be best just to completely shut my eyes as he did this. Heights didn't usually really bother me, but this was an exception.

"Ya know, I would consider this both a kidnap and a rescue," he had an arm around me again as he skillfully maneuvered his way along the roof. "I'm not planning on taking you back to Oliver and the others, after all."
