Chapter 2

I woke up in a unfamiliar room I looked around and I saw a girl looking at me and she smiled and say: hi how are you feeling?
I didn't really know how I was feeling but I answered: I'm ok what was that thing?
Alec walked in and I could feel my body relaxed and he say: that was a demon, how are you feeling?
"A demon? What does a demon wants from me? I'm fine now that I see a familiar face"
He gave me a small smile and said: this my sister Isabelle but I don't really know maybe because you're a shadowhunter.
"A shadowhunter?? Me?? What happened to me anyway??"
Alec: you fought the demon and I killed it but he managed to poison you so I used a healing rune on you.
All I could say was "ohh"
Then two people boy and a girl walked in talked to Alec and they looked at me and the red haired girl said: hi I'm Clary and this Jace welcome to the New York institute.
I smiled and said thank you, I needed to get away from here! A minute later I saw Magnus he called Alec I could see this two had something going on the other three people left for what they called a mission and I used the fact that I was alone to leave.
I got out and walked toward my place it was night again how long was I out??
As I was walking I heard a voice behind me asking: why did you leave?
Alec, how did he find me?? I looked at him and said: trust issues.
Alec: but you seem to trust me.
" yeah I don't know maybe you have one of those faces or maybe because you saved my life "
He laughed a little and said: you're funny but we should really go back!
"Go where? I am not a shadowhunter and I told you I don't trust them"
Alec: why? They're my family I would put my life in their hands why you don't trust people?
I looked at and somehow I could trust him and I said: I am 24 but since I was 4 and until I was 18 I pass from one foster home to another almost 10 houses and each one was worse than the last so I had to learn how to fight when I was only 10 I stood on my own taught myself how to survive this hell all my life I've been alone and I trusted only myself I'm not ready to trust the world again.
Alec looked in pain for what I just told him but then he looked at me and said: I'm sorry you had to go through that but Max listen to me! That demon that attacked you probably wasn't the only one there more coming!
"Then I'll fight them!"
Alec: like you fought this one!
" I had it under control if he wasn't twice my size and a demon"
Alec: ok fine! I'll make a deal with you! Fight me you win I'll leave you alone I win you're coming back with me to the institute deal!?
"Fine! Deal!"

**not far from there Magnus and Isabelle followed Alec to make sure he was ok and then Magnus said: she doesn't seem to trust anyone but when Alec shows up her entire body relaxes something about Alec make her feel safe and I never see him eager to help someone like he want to help her.
Isabelle looked at him and said: what are you saying? You think he has feelings for her? He just met her!
Magnus: love at first sight does exist!
Isabelle: common Magnus you can't be serious. You and Alec been through a lot together you think he is developing feelings for Max!?
Magnus: I guess its the jealous side talking but only time will tell!
Isabelle: it's going to be ok let's just keep watching him**

The fight was tense but kind of fun I pinned him to the floor and said: you are cocky!
He smiled knocking me down and said: so are you.
We fought for another 10 minutes where we just knock each other down when he pinned me to the floor a demon showed up and said: Max Grant has to die!
Alec helped me up and threw a blade at me and said: see?? A shadowhunter! Only a shadowhunter can activate the blade.
I rolled my eyes and we fought the demon and Alec held him to the floor and I stabbed him with the blade and he turned to ashes.
Isabelle and Magnus then showed up and she said: are you guys ok?
Alec looked confused and said: what are you guys doing here?
Isabelle: we saw how worry you were for her safety so we wanted to make sure you safe too.
Alec ran over me helped me up and said: by the way I won!
I couldn't help but laugh and I said: fair enough
Back at the institute they gave me a room Isabelle walked in and said: how are you doing?
"I'm still trying to process it all but I've been through worse so... is Alec around?"
Isabelle: no he stayed over at Magnus's.
"Are they.."
Isabelle: a couple yeah
"Ohh wow"
Isabelle: what?
"Nothing I may know him for a day or two but he deserves to be happy I'm happy for him"
Isabelle: you seem to trust only him why?
"I don't know I can't explain it just something about him I guess.."
Isabelle: trust me I get it Alec is the best friend and brother I've ever had I understand your feelings but like he said we are a family and you can trust me with whatever you want I'm here for you that's what's friends for ok?
I nodded friends ha? Haven't had one of those in forever I smiled and said: thank you I appreciate it.
Isabelle: anytime I'll leave you alone now good night Max.
"Good night"
Isabelle left and I fell asleep immediately I guess all that happened made me exhausted.

Max woke up and felt the side of her bed empty she looked around trying to find him then 2 seconds later he walked out of the shower with only a towel and she stared at him and he said: like what you see??
"Among other things yeah, I got worry when I didn't see you"
He came closer to me sitting next to me placing a kiss on my forehead and said: I'm sorry babe I didn't want to wake you.
She smiled at him and said: it's ok.
Alec: we have a long day ahead.
"Yes wedding plans!"
Alec: I can't believe its finally time.
"We've been through a lot to get to where we are now"
Alec: I remember the first time I saw you when you were singing at the hunters moon it was beautiful.
"How can you forget I stared at you like weirdo the whole time"
Alec: yeah I remember.
" I love you Alec Lightwood "
Alec: I love you too soulmate as long as I live.
They crossed fingers and the soulmates marks was seen clearly she had it on her middle finger like a tattoo the letter A and he had it too on the same finger the letter M
