Chapter 6

It's been 3 months sinse I came to Luke for a shelter and durning my time here I came across a few demons and he helped me kill them the mark on my finger kept burning till I got used to the pain, Luke has been helping me like a concerned father, he gave me a place to stay trained me taught how to use runes since he was a former shadowhunter and not once he asked why I'm there he figured when the time was right I'll tell him everything.
I knew I could tell him everything I mean Maia trust him with her life so why shouldn't I? Short answer! Trust issues! But I decided to try and give him a shot so I said: hey Luke do you have a minute?
Luke: sure kiddo what's up?
"I figured that after all this time that I'm here and everything you did for me you deserve to know why"
Luke: only if you ready to tell me I don't want you to think that you forced to tell me.
"I know I'm not forcing myself I'm ready to tell you, you've been incredible to me helped me so much you deserve to know"
Luke: ok.
"3 months ago I was attacked by a demon outside the hunters moon and I fought it and Alec Lightwood killed it not before he managed to poison me, that was the day I discovered I'm a shadowhunter after that I felt like I was going crazy Alec seemed to be everywhere I was and he took me to Magnus's to help me restore a memory I was blocking by my subconscious apparently... what I found out was that as a baby I got kidnapped from my family in Idris and they made it look like I was dead the circle took me to two circle member couple and they had some sick plan for me and my brother or more like Valentine had..... but the couple who raised me left the circle so they can raise like a normal child but Valentine's man killed them and sinse that day I was sent to a foster home till I was 18 that was the past and it was bad the present was me being attacked the first time and the second time and the third time and all those times Alec was there helped me and that's when I decided I needed to do this alone all my life I fought for myself and I felt helpless when he saved me all those times, grateful that he was there but helpless.
I knew he was a former circle member as well and I didn't blame him for any of that but he looked worried about me and he said: I remember this, now I know it was you and I'm so sorry that they did that to you Max, who is your brother?
"Jace Herondale"
Luke: Jace? Really?
I nodded and he said: is that why you left? I mean you could stayed with your brother Max and believe me I have no problem having you here but why did you leave them? 
I came to answer and a voice behind me said: I would like to know that too!? Please!
Seriously???? Howww???? Can't I get away from him??? It's been 3 month!!! HOWWW?!?!?
I looked at him and he was mad and cold 3 months has gone by and he looked even hotter, if that's even possible.
I didn't know what to say to him my dreams about him kept coming every night and I just stared at him and said:
"How did you find me??"
Alec looked mad and cold I couldn't shake that look on his face and the fact that he was gorgeous, damm it Max stop that!
Alec: I didn't used a rune to track you down if that's what you wondering I used my hunch, 3 demm months Max!
He sat next to Luke so he can look at me and he said: I honestly don't understand you!
"I told you I have trust issues!"
Alec: common Max this is an excuse, what are you so afraid of???
"Nothing Alec don't push it!"
Alec: if it was nothing you wouldn't have ran away!
I could feel my anger is rising like I couldn't control it and then my mark started to burn and I said: ENOUGH!
The mark suddenly was glowing that's when I saw the same on Alec and I said: what the hell is this!?
Luke looked at the both of us like he knew what it was and he said: come with me the both of you!
We gave each other a confused look and we walked after him, he got into a room and after we walked in he locked it and said: who else know about this?
"I didn't tell anyone I don't even know what this is!"
Alec: I didn't tell anyone either.
Luke: let me take a look.
He looked at Alec and said: you've got an M.
He looked at me and said: you've got an A.
"Ok.....what does it mean?"
Luke looked at Alec and said: you didn't find her based on a hunch you found her because of this mark! Look at my finger!
We looked at his finger and we saw J and I looked confused but Alec seemed to understand and he said: Jocelyn??
Luke nodded and Alec said: I don't understand what is this mark? And why are you so secretive about it?
Luke: it called a soulmate mark, everybody knows that somewhere each one has his other half the person he was destined to be with, my soulmate was Jocelyn.
I cut him off and I said: was??
Alec: I'm sorry Luke.
Luke: she passed away, you have nothing to be sorry about it wasn't your fault! My point is you two are soulmates I'm being careful about it because it can be used against you, you two are each other weakness.
"Ok stop! That's a nice story but did miss the part when he has a boyfriend???"
Luke ignored me and said: did the mark showed after you met?
We both nodded.
Luke: did you two had a dream when one of you mentioned the soulmates mark??
We both nodded.
Luke looked at Alec and said: did you suddenly start to be overprotective and concerned about her safety everytime she was not around???
I was pretty surprised and I saw Alec's face he was serious and he nodded and Luke said: did you leave because you felt yourself falling for him?
I nodded there was no point hiding it so why bother, Alec looked at me and said: really?? This why you left? Why didn't you tell me?
"Tell you what? It was literally 2 days after I met you ok?! I couldn't even understand why I trust you so much and I don't believe in love at first sight and beside I didn't know how to tell you or what to tell you and I felt like I was hurting Magnus just by thinking about it and he helped me restore my memories so..."
Alec: Max...
"I am sorry I left ok?! But I needed to handle this by myself I would go back with you to the institute to talk to Jace but this soulmate mark thing has to go away I don't want to hurt anyone!"
Alec: do you have any idea what I've been through in those 3 month I looked for you like crazy anywhere possible I even sent Izzy and Clary to look here but you weren't here, I was going crazy worry and everybody told me that I'm losing my mind but I kept going because I was frustrated that I couldn't understand those feelings that I have for you and now I'm looking at you and I'm both happy that you ok and not dead somewhere and angry at you for leaving after we said we'd get Jace and we talk.
I looked at him shocked from all this honesty and then Luke said: Max you can't escape it! The more you try the more the mark will hurt you it supposed to bring you together not pull you apart this is why it hurt when you in danger or pain so the other will know and take the pain away or come for you help.
Alec: what are supposed to do???
