Chapter 8

Alec: heyy Izz what's up?
Izzy: you tell me brother!
Alec: Izzy...
Izzy: what happened to no secrets Alec!?
Alec: Izz!
Izzy: what?
Alec: can you just listen for once!
She nodded and he said: wait here!
He took aside and said: what do you want to do?
I was kind of surprised he asked I mean from what I heard he has no secrets from his sister I looked at and said: we should tell her the truth!
Alec: are you sure?
"Yes I mean you the one who said I should trust more so if I'm not gonna trust your sister who am I gonna trust right??
Alec smiled and said: ok.
We walked back to Izzy who looked annoyed and she said: you know I heard you right!?!
Alec said: well it doesn't matter because we're going to tell you what's going on but Izz you can't tell anyone what you about to hear ok? This can put me and Max in danger if someone knew!
Izzy: ok ok spill!
Alec: Max give me your hand
I gave him my hand and he crossed it with mine and the feeling of his hand felt so warm and gentle on mine like it fit perfectly, then something almost magical happened the mark both mine and Alec's started to glow and I said: amm this is new!
Izzy look stunned and said: wow it's beautiful what is this?
Alec: this incredible.
"Do you see the letters?"
She nodded and Alec continued: its called the soulmates mark, we don't know much about it but long story short it mean we're soulmates.
Izzy's face was amazed by the glowing colors it was beautiful she looked like she is thinking about what to say and she said: how is that possible? How do we know which one is our soulmate? And when did the mark showed?
Alec: sometimes it takes years till you find your soulmate in our case it was a few days after we met.
Izzy: is that why you've been so protective of her when she came and you lost your mind when she left?
Alec looked a little embarrassed and he said: yeah pretty much.
Izzy: wow.
Alec: I'm sorry I didn't tell, we're still trying to figure this situation out,
Luke told us that each one in this world has that someone he or she was meant to spend the rest of their life with and in this case it's me and Max!
Luke has the same mark Izz with the letter J for Jocelyn.
Izzy: this incredible, but what are you going to do about Magnus?
"Nothing me and him won't be together, we can't hurt him!"
Izzy: and hurt yourself in the process?
"What do you mean?
Izzy: Look the only reason I was mad was because I felt like he found someone better to share his secrets with and truth is he did, I'm the one who always told you to follow and listen to your heart and every time you do I'll tell you how much I'm proud of you because I'm your sister and I'll always be there for you no matter what!
Alec hugged her strongly and when they broke apart she said: but you have to figure out what to do about Magnus.
Alec: I know and I will.
Izzy looked at me and said: and you! I'm glad you're not dead and that you came back cause now we can all train together and go on missions and I'm not blind I can see you have feelings for him whatever you two decide please make sure you both happy!
I just nodded and said: thanks.
Izzy: your secret is safe with me.
Then she left and it was just me and him I was kind of surprised that she took it better then I expected, Alec looked at me and said: sorry about that she can a little..
"Honest? Mmm... I wonder who she learned it from!?"
He smiled and said: yeah I guess so..
He came closer to me and said: she was right though we need to decide what to do.
I looked up at him and said: I know.. you have something to figure out yourself first, whatever you decided I'll be here for you mark or no mark!
Alec: I know me too.
He then stared at me and I could feel myself leaning towards him and I saw him do the same, we were inches away from each when there was a knock on the door and I pulled away and I opened it, Jace, he walked in and looked at us and said: can I borrow my sister?
Alec nodded and said: she is all yours.
I looked at him and I couldn't read his facial expressions and I said: you ok?
He nodded and said: I'm fine I'll see you around.
"Yeah sure"
Alec left and I looked at Jace and I said: is everything ok?
Jace: yeah I just wanted to bond a little come take a walk with me.
We walked outside it was getting dark and the air was chilly as we walked Jace said: tell me about your life.
I stopped and looked at him and said: what do you want to know?
Jace: everything.
"Well when I was 4 the couple who raised me was murdered by Valentine's man so after that I was transferred to social services and into a foster home till I was 18, and it was awful I had to learn how to fight for myself cause each home was worse than the last I taught myself not to trust anyone and always trust my instincts that's what kept alive but this all boring you know my life were.... complicated.
He looked at me with pain in his eyes and he said: I am so sorry I wasn't there for you!
"Its fine you didn't even know I existed so... it's not your fault besides I heard you had a pretty rough road"
Jace: yeah that's an understatement.
Jace told me everything that Valentine did to him and Clary and I was completely discussed by the man he also said he was dead which made me feel relieved, he couldn't use me for his evil plan or whatever he wanted to do with me.
I looked at Jace and I said: I'm sorry you had to go through this , I'm glad he is dead.
Jace: me too but we need to figure out why those demons want you.
"Well when Magnus helped restore the memory they mentioned something about a power that I have that can destroy everything they knew or something like that"
Jace: we need to dig deeper.
"I agree"
We sat on a banch and I said: can I ask you something?
He nodded and I continued: you're Alec's parabatai right? So is that mean you can feel what he feels and when he is in pain or something like that?
Jace: yeah pretty much and if one of us die half of us dies too, why you ask?
"I'm just trying to learn more about the shadow world"
Jace: ok.. but what's up with you and Alec anyway?
"What do you mean?"
Jace: when you first came here I saw how overprotective he was over you and he just met you and now things seem even more interesting between you two.
I laughed and said: interesting? Really?! That's the word you choose?
Jace laughed and said: amm yap.
"Alec and I are friends and he saved my life like 3 times so..."
Jace: yeah ok, you know you can talk to me.
I nodded I mean if I want to tell him plike we told Izzy I should talk about it with Alec I said: I know and if there was something to talk about I would.
Jace: ok.
"Let's head back"
He nodded and we walked back to the institute I said I'll talk to him later and went to look for Alec, he was in his room and he was with Magnus and they were arguing about something.

**Alec decided to take a break from Magnus till he sort his feelings, Magnus was hurt and he said: is this about Max?
Alec wasn't going to lie and he said: it is and I can't be with you till I know exactly how I feel and please don't hate me ok? I just don't want to hurt you I do love you!
Magnus: but you also loves her!
Alec: I...
Magnus: it's ok Alexander I actually saw it coming I appreciate your honesty and you know where to find me once you'll sort your feelings, I can never hate you!
He walked out of the room and Max hide so he won't see her and she saw him leaving she was sad for Magnus she never meant for any of it, she knocked on the door and Alec opened, he had tears in his eyes.**

"Hey what's wrong?"
Alec let me in and closed the door and he said: I called it off with Magnus.
"I'm sorry"
Alec: don't be it's my fault I'm the one who needs to figure out my feelings.
He wiped the tears and I looked at him sad and he said: is everything ok?
"Amm yeah I wanted to talk to you about something but it can wait"
Alec: no no it's ok really! What is it?
"I wanted to ask you if we can tell Jace about the soulmates mark"
Alec: yeah I mean if you want to.
"Yeah I mean he is my brother I should tell him right?!"
Alec: yeah if we can't trust our brother and sister who do we trust?
I laughed a little and I said: you're right, I'll go call him.
Alec: Max wait!
I looked at him and he looked nervous and I said: what is it?
Alec: I want to try something.
"Ok what?"
Alec: do you trust me?
I smiled and said: what do you think??
He smiled and said: closed your eyes.
I gave him a questioning look and I said: I don't really like surprises.
Alec: you said you trust me! Then trust me!
"Ok"
I saw him take a big breath before I closed my eyes and waited for whatever is coming.
Few seconds later I felt his hands on my waist pulling me closer I could feel my heart beat going crazy I didn't opened my eyes I was too scared I guess I don't know why just being this close to him makes me nervous I felt his body warmth then I felt gentle lips on mine it took me by surprise but I kissed him back the kiss only lasted for a few seconds when I opened my eyes looked at him I saw him smiling shyly I felt my cheeks burning and I said: are you sure?
He then leaned in again this time it was more passionate.

**Max and Alec didn't see it but their kiss caused beautiful glowing colors floating around the institute everyone were pretty shocked when Izzy looked satisfied and whispered to herself: finally.
Jace and Clary saw it and Clary said: what is it?
Izzy: I'll be right back.
That's when she went over Alec's room.
