---Jason---"Gate 15 to Oakland, California has just been delayed for 2 hours," a choppy voice coming from the loudspeaker said, just as the four rushed to their gate.
"Ugh, seriously? We just ran for no reason, great," Hazel complained.
"At least I can go to Starbucks now, I am really in the mood for a latte," Annabeth said.
"Ooh, same! I'm coming with you. You you guys want anything?" Hazel asked, turning to Frank and Jason.
"Sure, can I get an iced black tea?" Jason asked, as he moved their luggage to the side of some chairs. They only brought what they had, and the rest of their belongings would be transported to their cabins when they get to Camp Jupiter.
"You like black tea too?" Annabeth asked, surprised. Jason nodded. "I don't like it, it's so bitter," Hazel said. "But I guess its refreshing in a way. Do you want anything Frank?"
Frank shook his head, and Annabeth and Hazel left.
Jason and Frank took a seat. Jason drummed his fingers on the arm wrest of his chair, and then Frank asked him a question.
"Are you okay, Jason? You've been acting a little strange recently.."
Jason didn't want to lie anymore. He's been hiding things for too long. But he also didn't want to tell Frank, at least not right now at this time or place. "No.. I'm not okay." he said, his voice shaking the tiniest bit.
Silence.
"Do you want to talk about it..?"
"No."
More silence.
"Okay.."
They sat there together for a while in even more awkward silence. Jason didn't want to be so rudely passive, but he didn't know how to respond to Frank's question the way he wanted to.
Annabeth and Hazel came back, drinks in their hands. Jason took his, taking a long sip. Most people would think he was weird for wanting black tea at his age, but he's grown a liking to it when being so stressed.
"What are we gonna do to kill time?" Annabeth asked, sipping on her latte.
"Not sure," Hazel responded.
What they ended up doing was have a conversation, but Jason didn't join, instead going on his phone, because Nico texted him.
Nico: 'Hey, did u board yet?'
Jason: 'No, our flight got delayed by 2 hours.'
Nico: 'Oh, bummer.'
Jason: 'Yeah. What ru doing? Ru on your way to NY yet?'
Nico: 'Yep. Percy's driving, wish us luck, haha. I'm so bored right now. Luckily I have the whole back row to myself, though.'
Jason: 'That's nice. I checked the boarding passes, the Gods booked us first class seating.'
Nico: 'Wow, really? lucky.'
Jason: 'Yeah.'
Nico: 'Well, have a safe flight, I have to go. bye.'
Jason: 'Bye, Nico.'
For the rest of the time, Jason just went on his phone, not doing anything specific in particular.
