The man opened the trunk and let Ari in. After locking the trunk, the man grabs a brown messenger bag from the back seat of the van and pulled out a bottle of a pale blue tonic. As he got closer to Ari, her cheeks turn red as she shyly looked away from him.

"Do you mind if I can take this off?", asked the man. Ari shyly nodded. The man slowly slips his fingers under Ari's jacket to pull down her sleeve. Then, the man slowly took off her jacket and put it next to a black messenger bag. With her arms revealed, Ari's eyes meet the man's eyes in a demure look. As he stretches his hand toward her, the man gently touches her scratched arm, causing her face to turn to a deeper shade of red. Then, the man grabs a paper towel, pour the tonic, and gently tend to Ari's wounds. Feeling the coldness from the tonic, Ari gasped sharply as her shoulders shudder. The man looks at her demure look and smiled.

"Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit", he said kindly. Ari slowly looks and saw the blood from her arm disappearing. With the blood gone, the man pulled out a small roll of light brown gauze and a pair of scissors. After cutting a piece of the gauze, the man gently wrapped it around Ari's arm and as he reaches to her thumb, he wraps the gauze around it and stopped.

Then, he grabs her sneaker and took it off. With her shoe removed, the man rolls up her pant sleeve and look at her bloodied knee. Ari demurely looked at the man as he tended the wound.

"Um..you don't have to do that, I can take care of the rest", she said shyly.

The man looked at Ari's embarrassed face and chuckled.

"Don't be silly, I'm almost done", he said as he wrapped the gauze around her knee. As he gently pulled down her pant sleeve, Ari looked at the man as her reddened face turns normal.

"Um...thanks for saving me back there", she said softly. The man smiled again.

"It's no problem", he said. Before one of them can speak once more, the man hears noises from outside. He looked at the window and saw two darkwings: the courageous lesser false vampire bat and the young but selfless brown bat.

"What is it?", asked Ari. The man saw the darkwings reverting back to their human forms. The boy who appears to be Latino has short, spiky black hair and almond-shaped green eyes. He is wearing a green letterman jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers. The other boy has pale skin. Also, he has short, spiky dark brown hair and almond-shaped blue eyes. He is wearing a blue jean jacket over a purple hoodie, dark blue jeans, and navy blue sneakers. Seeing the two coming to the van, the man quickly grab a red blanket and pushed Ari to the edge of the trunk.

"Hey! what are you—", said Ari when the man shushed her. A confused Ari slump herself down as the man covered her with the blanket. With Ari hidden, the man turned around and saw the Latino man getting in the driver's seat while the other man gets in the passenger's seat.

"Did you get the supplies?", he asked.

The Latino man nodded no as he put his seatbelt on.

"The olcadans got there before us", he said. Ari lifts the blanket up and saw three olcadans. The olcadan turn to the van and saw Ari.

"There she is! That's Linda's daughter", he yelled.

Ari quickly lifts the blanket down. Hearing the olcadan yelling, the Latino man look at the driver's mirror and saw the olcadans flying.

"The olcadans!", he said.

"Go! Go! Go!", yelled the man.

The Latino man started the car and backed it up when he shifted to reverse. Then, he put it in drive and he drives the van at an accelerated speed.
