I was just walking around the school hallway, waiting for the bell to ring, and just wondered something,

I don't know why, but i'm curious as to why Jackson stopped being an athlete. Did something happened or what?

It's kinda weird about me that, everytime there's something that was left unanswered, I always get so curious and try to find answers as much as possible. Like, I wouldn't stop until I get the answer that I want. And right now, I want answers to why Jackson stopped playing basketball. I mean, he couldn't have been sick, and if he was then he shouldn't have stopped playing the sport. Unless, if the sickness was something serious? Probably not, did he had a problem? Was he forced to stop? Why am I getting so curious over this simple thing??

I just shook the thought away, continuing to roam around the hallways.

I stopped walking when I heard my name being called,

I turned to where the voice came from and saw one of Jackson's friends, Mark.

"Hey ChaeYeon." Mark said,

"Hi Mark!" I said as I waved at him, "Do you need anything?"

He shook his head, "Just wanted to say hi." He said and I mouthed an "Oh"

"By the way where are you going? Are you not gonna go to your class?" He asked,

"I'm just waiting for the bell to ring." I replied, "I don't want to go to my classroom early because there might be someone in the classroom and the both of us might get super awkward until class starts." I said and Mark laughed,

"I get how that feels." He said,

There was sudden silence between us, until Mark decided to break it.

"By the way, it's kinda weird how Jackson is helping you this much, It's surprising." He said,

I tilted my head, "What does that mean?"

"I don't want to come off as rude, trust me, it's really great having you as a friend. But, like, Jackson hasn't been this nice towards a girl in so long. After the incident that happened seven months ago, he started acting cold towards other girls. I mean, he still keeps his name as a nice person, but, he hasn't been really communicating to girls much. In fact, he tries his best to avoid them as much as possible." He said,

"Incident..?"

"Ah... Seven months ago, he broke up with his girlfriend. Apparently, she cheated on him." He said, "He felt so broken after that, he isolated himself for so long. But decided to socialize again after two months."

Is this why he stopped being an athlete?

"Oh..." Was the only thing that escaped my mouth,

"It's surprising really, how he became close to a girl once again. And honestly, i'm really happy about that." Mark said,

"Hey ChaeYeon..?"

"What is it?" I asked,

"Do me a favor, and please, don't let him feel broken again..?" He asked,

"Of course, I'll try my best."

"Thank you, oh and please don't tell Jackson I told you this."

"Promise!" I said as I lifted my hand, same level as my head and Mark just smiled.
