"I actually forgot to tell you about this meeting," Kihyun whispered as he and Hyunwoo sat down on a row of empty seats outside of the principal's office.
"No worries. My parents are taking Minhyuk back with them again anyway," Hyunwoo replied, and Kihyun bit his lip anxiously.
"How is he? It feels like ages since I last saw him," he asked, and Hyunwoo chuckled.
"He's doing good. He misses you a lot even though it was only yesterday you saw each other," the elder answered, and Kihyun sighed.
"Regardless of whether I get to keep my job or not, I'm going to buy him the biggest tub of Play-Doh I can find to make this up to him," the pink-haired man commented, and Hyunwoo chuckled again.
"You know, this place reminds me of high school - minus the child-sized chairs," he shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his knees almost at the same height as his shoulders.
Kihyun never really had to worry about discomfort, since he was short enough that the height of the seats didn't bother him.
"Kihyun-ssi," the principal spoke up from a few doors down.
The two men stood up, and Hyunwoo suddenly grabbed Kihyun's hand, lacing his fingers with the younger male's. Kihyun looked over at him with a frown on his face.
"What are you doing?" He all about hissed, and Hyunwoo simply smiled.
"Playing the part," was all he said before he began walking towards the office, taking Kihyun along with him.
"Welcome," the principal nodded at Hyunwoo, ignoring Kihyun. "Please, take a seat."
The two sat down on the two seats laid out for them, the principal taking his usual seat behind the desk.
"Let's start this promptly and then we can all be out of here within ten minutes," the man smiled, a look which Kihyun found to be sinister. "First thing's first: did you know Kihyun had taken your child home the day before yesterday?"
Hyunwoo nodded. "Yes. I was the one who asked him to take Minhyuk home. I can go into my call log if you'd like."
"That won't be necessary, Mr. Son," the principal shook his head. "But you must agree that what Kihyun-ssi did there was unprofessional-"
"How was it?" Hyunwoo interrupted, frown adorning his gorgeous features. "I asked my boyfriend to take our son home from school. Kihyun is just as much of a father to Minhyuk as I am! How is that unprofessional?"
"Did the two of you adopt Minhyuk together, then?" The principal asked, scowling himself - but Kihyun thought he looked better that way.
"Minhyuk isn't adopted," Hyunwoo answered. "He's my biological son, I created him. But Kihyun's been there for Minhyuk more than anybody else has, and I believe he has just as much right to call Minhyuk his son as I do."
Kihyun sat in silence, looking over at Hyunwoo with his jaw slightly dropped. All of the things Hyunwoo was saying, they were all an act. He knew Hyunwoo didn't mean any of them seriously - he never could. Kihyun was just his son's teacher. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Kihyun-ssi," the principal spoke, prompting Kihyun to look back at him. "Why didn't you tell anyone sooner that you were in a relationship with a child's father? I can't help but feel like this was all thrown together last minute."
"It was a personal piece of information, sir," the pink-haired male answered quietly. "You know what people in South Korea about homosexuality - I didn't want you to fire me because I'm gay."
It was true. Even if Kihyun and Hyunwoo weren't really dating, Kihyun had been fired from many of his previous jobs just for being gay. He couldn't really complain much, though, as there was never anyone around to listen.
"I appreciate your honesty," the principal said gruffly, and Kihyun swallowed, Hyunwoo's hand squeezing his in an attempt to calm him down. "The two of you may leave. Thank you for your time."
The bastard didn't even bother to get up and let Kihyun and Hyunwoo out of the room, which was fine with Kihyun because as soon as Hyunwoo closed the door behind the two of them, he was crying.
"Hey, hey, you did great, Kihyun," Hyunwoo reassured, letting the younger male cry into his chest. "Jeez, even Minhyuk would be proud of you."
"I don't want to lose my job," the pink-haired male sobbed into Hyunwoo's shirt, the latter's hands weaving through those same light locks.
"And I'm telling you, you won't. You're too much of a valuable worker for him to give you the boot," Hyunwoo insisted. "Come on, let's go pick Minhyuk up. You're coming home with us today."
