"Fuck."

Minhyuk looked up from his bowl of Cheerios at his father, who was rushing around the kitchen in search of his travel mug.

Hopping off of his seat at the island, Minhyuk walked happily over to the kitchen sink, where he picked up the mug. Granted, he had to stand on his tip-toes to get it, but he smiled triumphantly when he did.

Hyunwoo raced into the kitchen again, turning around and seeing Minhyuk wasn't sitting at the island anymore, and sighed out in relief when he saw his son at the sink, his travel mug in his small hands.

"Daddy, I found this!" He exclaimed happily, holding the mug up to Hyunwoo's face.

The older man smiled at the boy, leaning down to pick him up and press a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, darling."

"Daddy come and eat breakfast with me?" Minhyuk pleaded, giving his father his best puppy-dog eyes.

And how could Hyunwoo say no to that?

"Of course, Minnie," he relented, carrying Minhyuk back over to the island and sitting him down in his original seat, moving round the table to take his seat opposite Minhyuk.

Minhyuk immediately went to pick up the cereal box, standing up on his seat and pouring nearly all the contents of the box into Hyunwoo's empty bowl. Hyunwoo should've scolded his son for standing up on his seat and being reckless but he couldn't be angry with his boy when he was doing all of this from the kindness of his own heart.

"Thank you, bub," Hyunwoo leaned forward over the table, seating Minhyuk back onto his chair and tickling his sides as a way to see Minhyuk smile again.

Hyunwoo had decided from the moment that Minhyuk was born that his smile was the most contagious thing about him. Whenever Minhyuk smiled, all the bad things in the world just ceased to exist.

Minhyuk was the definition of a living, breathing sunshine, and Hyunwoo loved him with all of his heart.

"Are you looking forward to today, sweetheart?" Hyunwoo asked through a mouthful of Cheerios, and Minhyuk nodded happily.

"My teacher is really nice! He has pink hair!" Minhyuk exclaimed, and Hyunwoo raised an eyebrow.

"Pink hair?" He asked, and Minhyuk nodded again, blonde hair flopping about on his head as he did so. "Calm down, Minhyuk, you're going to get a headache."

"He's really nice, Daddy! He plays with me sometimes!" Minhyuk was practically jumping in his seat by now, seemingly very excited by this mysterious 'pink-haired teacher'.

"Is that so?" Hyunwoo asked, purely for the sake of keeping his son happy. It wasn't that he didn't care about this teacher, but he would much rather prefer to not think of adults like himself actually leading happy, non-stressful lives.

Ok, so maybe not happy lives.

(Hyunwoo was perfectly happy with Minhyuk in their little, comfy house; but he was definitely more stressed than a normal adult should be).

"Come on, Minnie, eat your cereal; we're leaving in ten minutes," he informed, and Minhyuk immediately did as he was told.

Sometimes, Hyunwoo wondered how he had managed to raise Minhyuk into such a lovely boy. He never fussed, never threw tantrums, and all of his school reports came back positive. Minhyuk was also the definition of an angel, as it seemed.

"Good morning, Minhyuk!" Kihyun greeted happily, bending over so he was at Minhyuk's height and ruffling his hair.

"Morning, Kihyun-seonsaengnim!" Minhyuk replied cheerily, and Hyunwoo watched in somewhat awe as the infamous pink-haired teacher, now identified as 'Kihyun' stripped Minhyuk of his coat and took the boy's bag from him.

Hyunwoo couldn't believe he hadn't seen this teacher before. He'd dropped Minhyuk off to the nursery plenty of times before, but every time there had been a different teacher who greeted him. Was this guy new?

Kihyun stood up straight then, smiling at Hyunwoo politely, and Hyunwoo couldn't help but notice his hamster cheeks that curved around his dimples, outlining Kihyun's mouth and perfectly white teeth perfectly.

Hyunwoo would be damned if he'd never seen this teacher before.

Maybe he had, but he had just been in too much of a rush to really notice.

Clearing his throat, Hyunwoo smoothed out the non-existent creases in his suit jacket as an excuse for his hands to do something other than lay idly at his sides, kneeling down to give Minhyuk a hug and tickle his sides again.

He needed to see his boy's smile again before he went off for a day of Hell at work, and he even got to hear his sweet little laugh this time, something he treasured more than anything.

"I'll see you later when I come to pick you up, ok, baby?" Hyunwoo confirmed, and Minhyuk nodded enthusiastically, throwing his arms around Hyunwoo's neck again in a tight hug.

"Bye-bye, Daddy!" The blonde waved once Hyunwoo stood up, and Kihyun flashed him another warm smile that Hyunwoo just had to smile back at. He didn't feel like he had to - he wanted to.

Kihyun watched as the taller man left, noticing how antsy he looked as he practically ran back to his car like he was in a rush.

Minhyuk was gone, off playing with the toy cars Kihyun had laid out a bit earlier, and Kihyun was left wondering whether he would need to ask Minhyuk some questions about his father later.
