9. Boston

I could hear her moving around in the guest room as I left my room, knocking softly "you ready?"
The door opened and I looked down at her "you're tiny" I teased scooping her up against me making her laugh.
"Put me down, you caveman" she giggled and I let her slide down my body till her feet just touched the ground before scooping her up again "nope, safer if I carry you" I tell her striding towards the stairs, she squeaked "don't drop me" and wrapped her arms around my neck.
James was already in the kitchen starting coffee and I originally thought Carter was sat at the table but then stopped short as I recognised the man there.
"Simon!....James" I growled "what did you do?"
Aggie trembled in my arms at my voice and I hugged her to me "don't worry baby, I'm not mad at you"
James kept his back to me "I phoned home last night"
"And.?"
"I may or may not have spoken to Pop and Ma and told her about Agatha and the problem" he muttered moving the other side of the kitchen island and out of reach.
"Hey, what's going on" Carter asked from behind me.
I dropped my face into her neck and breathed in deep "Aggie, Carter, this is Simon, he works for my family" I grumble, glaring at James.
"Hello Simon" Aggie said softly looking towards the table.
Simon got up and held out a hand to her "it's a pleasure to meet you, young lady"
She leaned out of my hold and shook his hand "put me down caveman" she prompted me, wriggling again in my arms.
I sighed and did as she asked, the others watching, smiling at my reluctance to let her go.
I pulled out a chair and sat her at the table as James poured coffee for everyone.
"Simon?"
"After breakfast Boston, we can talk in the study" Simon tells me, a warning look on his face, I saw Carter and James pick up on the warning, and nodded, not in front of Aggie.
James opened the oven and pulled out a rack of croissants placing them on the table with butter.  "Sorry guys not a lot of choice thus morning, need to go shopping" he apologised.
"This is perfect, I love croissants" Aggie giggled reaching for one and smiling at James.

Aggie insisted on clearing the kitchen up after breakfast and I left James and Carter with her as I went into the study with Simon, braced for his news.
"Fuck!" I stare at Simon across the desk "he's got what?"
Simon tosses the envelope onto my desk, "the London team found a room in his house he's dedicated to her, pictures, items we are assuming are hers, his computer has a clone of her email account and Facebook account, there was additional files with photos and information on her including school, health and police reports." He tells me watching my reaction.
"Where is he now?"
"Yesterday he was still in London but he is booked on a flight here tonight"
"I'll kill him if he comes near her" my heart speeds up at the thought of her in danger and I have to see her.
"Boston...." Simon starts.
"I need to see her" I stand up.
"You need to keep calm, you need to let her know what's happening and make a plan, we don't know what he will try but I'm here to make sure you're all safe"
"I need to speak to her family, she's agreed to stay here this weekend as a trial, but she's worried about what her family will say, as we've only just met, whatever she's staying here, I said we would pick up some stuff from her dorm today"
"Good, we have today to get her settled and speak to her family, we need to be careful how you communicate with them as he may be monitoring calls"
I thought of what him coming here would do to her and growled "I want someone on the house"
"Already in place, the London team is also monitoring her family, we could get a secure phone to them.."
He stopped as his mobile rang "sir" he greeted and I groaned as he put it on speaker.
"How you doing son?" My dads voice filled the room.
"James called you" I muttered.
"He did, so you could concentrate on her, and we can't wait to meet her, now what do you need to make her safe?"
"Has Simon told you what was found?"
"No, let's hear it.."
Simon briefs dad on what was happening and discusses forward plans to keep her safe, we discuss her family and the best way of explaining to them she's mine now.
"I know how to handle that, you leave it to me, your mothers been packing since last night to fly down to you, so we'll just go via London and tell them"
"Dad, you can't just say hello and my sons claimed you daughter, and what do you mean you're coming here"
"Why not, it's true and besides they need to meet us sooner rather than waiting till the wedding, your moms so excited to get started"
"Damn Dad, I've only found her yesterday, give me a chance to tell her"
Simon and Dad laugh "good luck son and keep me updated, tell your girl that we will talk to her parents, if you can find a safe way for her to call them"
"I think we can do that" Simon tells him.

Simon and I review the security again before I leave him on the phone and go to find Aggie.
Carter and James are sat in the lounge with her trying to teach her to play Xbox and laughing at her frustration.
"How you doing baby?" I ask scooping her up and sitting back down with her perched on my knee.
"I think they're cheating" she whined pouting at us.
We laughed and I ran my finger across her lower lip "no pouting baby, it's too cute"
She glared at me as the other two laughed louder "cute!"
"Yep, cute, now do you want to go grab your things" I wrapped my arms around her waist smiling at her.
"Ohh yes please" she wriggled to get up and looked down at me "now?"
"Yes ma'am, come on you two, you can help us, baby go grab your shoes" we all watched as she rushed off.
I turned to Carter "he's coming here, they reckon he'll arrive tonight, they found a shrine in his house dedicated to her, I need to get her settled in here for her safety, I can speak to your family once that's done" I told him, keeping an eye on the door for her return.
"Fuck, fuck, this is all my fault"
"Listen, we will talk about blame later but She doesn't know and I want to keep it that way, there's security on the house and I'll have a detail on her till this is sorted"
