Ever since you could walk and talk,
From the day your imagination started to grow,
All the adults in the world said no!
From the ages 3 to 18,
You spend 6 hours a day being told what to think,
Our human rights state we're supposed to have freedom of thought,
Don't you see the system is leaving millions of kids distraught,
They cram facts and statistics in our head expecting us to learn and take in everything,
Yet we never learn the Laws of the country that we live in,
Teaching a group of kids the exact same way,
Refusing to acknowledge the fact that we all have different learning mechanisms,
They say as humans we all have the right to an education,
But is it really an education when being force fed information,
Is the governments idea of a solid learning foundation,
I don't think you realise how much the system makes kids feel stupid,
Comparing students to each other no wonder they feel useless,
When we are judged on not our ability to learn but to memorise,
A real education should include sleeping for longer, less homework,less stress, encourage creativity instead of silent tests,
When you steal a child's creativity,
They no longer wish to learn because since when was making notes and sitting in silence ever fun,
And since when is it ok to push someone unwillingly out their comfort zones,
Making kids who don't enjoy PE do 10 mile runs,
Forcing children who suffer from dyslexia to read out loud,
Don't you think these children are embarrassed enough when their test scores come back,
Below average the lowest in the class,
If you don't see a problem then your only fooling yourself,
Because forcing a child to work unwillingly,
Some would even call child slavery,
What do we benefit from school,
The perfect example of intellectual bulimia,
Feeding our brain with facts we don't understand then throwing them up on the test paper,
The majority of these facts we then forget a week later,
If you still believe your kids are getting access to an education,
Then justify the reasons why 82% of students are on anxiety medication,
The world is developing and growing every day,
Yet the education system hasn't changed for more then a century, is that really ok?
