A Wizard in my Room (Book One of The Wizard series)

Chapter 5

As they walked down the street, Allyson and Severus were silent, each lost in their own thoughts. 

I haven't had pizza in years! Should I go back to England? It's not like I'll have anything there if what she says is true- not that I had much where I was supposed to exist, wherever that is- or, was.

Will he stay here? Where will he go if he does stay here.........

They continued walking until they got to the bottom of the hill that was Allyson's driveway, where Allyson took a left.

They continued walking for about fifteen minutes until they reached town. It took another five minutes to get to the pizza barn.

What do you want on your pizza?

Bloody hell! You should warn me before you just go in my head!

"Sorry." 

"It's fine. And, chicken, green onions, bell peppers, and artichoke."

"Cool. That's my favorite. White sauce, right?" 

"Yes."

"Kay, I'll get a medium." Allyson said. 

Ten minutes later, their pizza arrived at their table.

After a few minutes, Severus broke the silence.

"Don't you have a dog?" he asked.

"Oh, yeah. I've been thinking about what to do with her while we're away. The only solution I have come up with is take her with us being as I have no one I could get to watch her." Allyson said.

"Will it freak her out to apparate?"

"Well, of course, but, what else can we do?"

"We could transfigure your dog into something- but just until we reach the hotel."

"I guess that would work."

They sat in silence, again.

"So.... Are we done here?" Allyson asked. 

"I believe so." Severus said getting up.

Allyson grabbed a to- go box and packed up the pizza and left, leaving the tip on the table. 

When they reached the house, Allyson told Severus that she had to go feed the dog. So they walked around to the kennel. Allyson opened it and out trotted the most magnificent dog, no, you couldn't call this creature a dog, he had ever seen.

"Hello Lupa! How's my girl?" Allyson said to her pet.

The dog was staring directly at Severus and made a noise that sounded oddly like "Who's this"

"This is Severus, Lupa. Can you say hello to him?"

Lupa walked over to Severus cautiously, glancing at Allyson when she reached him.

"Say hello." she repeated.

Lupa sniffed Severus's hand and gently pushed it onto her head. Severus reacted by stroking her head.

After a moment, Lupa trotted back to Allyson and nodded as if to say "He's fine." 

"Is she a wolf?" Severus asked as Allyson filled Lupa's bowl with kibble and wet food. 

"Hm? Oh, yeah." Allyson said. 

"However did you come across her?" Severus asked.

"Well, my father and I went on a trip to an Indian Reservation, I don't know why, business probably, and I wandered off into the woods. I heard a noise in the bushes. It was an elk with really big antlers. It just stood there, staring at me, until, a huge white wolf leaped out of the bushes, and attacked the elk. But, the wolf was stabbed by the elk's antlers. As she lay there, dying, something whimpered from the bushes. It was Lupa. I took her back to my father, and he told me to give her to the Indians, but they told him that I had to be the one to keep her, because I rescued her. So yeah, now I have a wolf." Allyson finished.
