He remembered back when the waters were clear, and full of underwater life. He could see out of his coral reef home for many miles, and loved to watch his sister chase after the plankton that they fed on.
It's been many years since the last time he's seen his sister.
The ocean's once clear waters were now murky and grey, filled with floating garbage that the humans threw into the waters. It was this garbage that forced his sister to flee to cleaner waters, leaving him alone.
He sighed, swallowing some of the scared plankton that he loved. The food levels were decreasing, leaving him hungry on most days.
He hated the humans for turning his home into a terrible place. He wanted to hurt them so badly, but he was small, and they were huge. They could easily harm him just like they polluted his home's waters...
When he was returning to the safety of his coral home, he saw it.
A slim, beautiful pink creature was swimming with the oceans current, about thirty feet away from were he floated. He tilted his small head, curious of the strange being. He tried calling out to it, but he was greeted with silence whenever he tried.
He decided to swim to it, wondering if it heard him.
When he approached, he could see that it was no ordinary ocean creature. It was a tad thicker then his tail was, and had a white fuzz on each of it's pink ends.
What's this? He wondered.
"I'm Quilbio." He said as a way of greeting the strange thing. It didn't respond, so he just assumed it was shy.
"Are you new?" He asked, gently wrapping his tail around the creature's slim body. It felt weird under his tail, as if it wasn't even alive.
It wasn't even alive.
This thought made him let go of the creature, disgusted with himself. He tilt his head again, glaring at the thing.
Come to think of it, He thought. It really looks like those plastic sticks that he humans toss into the water to get the fishes.
He shook his head. It was wrong to judge this creature just because it felt different and has a shape similar to a human's object.
"I'm sorry." He said softly, wrapping his tail around the creature again. "I don't mean to be rude." He looked at the creature, assuming that it was female, due to how slim it was compared to his own frame.
"Your a girl, if I'm right." He said, but as usual, the creature didn't respond.
He huffed softly. "I'm nearly alone around here, so if I seem pushy when I ask this... Uh... Want me to show you around?"
The water around them swished, and it looked as if one of the creatures white fuzzes nodded in reply. Based off this, he assumed that that was the females head.
"Alright." He said with a smile. "Let's go. I'm sure you'll like it here."
