Shattered Dreams
Life has been so harsh to us,
We don't even know how to cope up.
Life has been so cruel to us,
We don't even want to give up.
Mom and dad always have a fight,
We wonder if they still love each other.
We see mom cries in their room without a light,
It makes us think she doesn't want them together.
Life has never been good to us,
I bet everybody can tell our heartache,
Life has never given us the chance to be happy,
How can we? Most of the time they give us headache.
The fight continues to grow,
My brother and I witness their unending rage.
We see dad punches mom, a hideous blow,
While we try to hide in our secret cage.
Life is full of mysteries,
We experience a great part of it.
Life is full of hardships,
Unlucky us we can't seem to avoid some of it.
They don't care about their children,
Fighting in front of us is not tolerable.
They never give us peace but make bad things happen,
How can they be so irresponsible?
We are too young to have this kind of life,
Our parents are too old to fight to some non-sense things.
We never wish to have this life,
Now we can't seem to overcome these happenings.
Having the thought of us breaking up,
It scares us but we know it's going there.
We don't want to think our time is running out,
It will change our lives forever.
Eventually, they stop fighting,
They both decide to go on living apart.
We are the most affected of this thing,
We don't comprehend their decision and their part.
Their reputation is destroyed,
While our dreams are shattered.
The dream to have a happy family ended,
The dream to live a harmonious life gets wasted.
