"No that sucks," Nero said grabbing a page in his notebook with his thumb and forefinger before ripping it out. He crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it onto the floor adding it to a growing pile of paper balls.
"Still can't think of anything?" His girlfriend May Cromwell asked from the couch.
The hybrid shook his head, "No! How can I possibly write a good song when everything I write turns out rubbish?"
"I'm sure you'll think of something," May said sweetly.
Nero groaned and put his headphones on deciding to listen to music to give him some ideas.
May leaned her head back on the couch and she slightly turned the volume up on her scroll that was sitting next to her. The song that was playing was a song by Plain White Ts. The brunette smiled and began to hum along to the lyrics.
She was so lost in the music that she almost didn't hear the sound of Willow, Nero's daughter coming into the room.
"What's going on?" Nero asked taking his headphones off.
"I can't sleep," the cat Faunus said, "can you sing something to me?"
Nero nodded and went to pick her up before sitting on the couch with her. He was trying to think of what to sing to her when May got an idea. She turned the scroll up more and restarted the song that was playing.
Nero caught onto what she was doing and began singing along to the lyrics
"My head is stuck in the clouds. She begs me to come down. Says 'boy quit fooling around.' I told her 'I love the view from up here. Warm sun and wind in my ear. We'll watch the world from above. As it turns to the rhythm of love.' We may only have tonight But till the morning sun you're mine, all mine. Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
He looked at May during the next part of the song, "My heart beats like a drum. A guitar string to the strum. A beautiful song to be sung. She's got blue eyes deep like the sea. That roll back when she's laughing at me. She rises up like the tide. The moment her lips meet mine."
May decided to sing with him on the chorus, "We may only have tonight, but till the morning sun you're mine all mine. Play the music low and sway to the rhythm of love."
Nero then went silent to let his girlfriend sing by herself, "When the moon is low. We can dance in slow motion. And all your tears will subside. All your tears will dry."
The hybrid then turned to his daughter in his arms, "And long after I've gone, you'll still be humming along. And I will keep you in my mind. The way you make love so fine."
May then began singing along with her boyfriend again, "We may only have tonight, but till the morning sun you're mine all mine.

By the time they finished Willow was fast asleep in her father's arms. Nero carried her to her room but not before he called back over his shoulder at May.
"You were right May. I think I found my inspiration."
He cast another glance down at his sleeping daughter and May smiled fondly at this.
