Prefects' Common Room

After leading the Gryffindors back to the common room, Ron and Hermione headed to the Prefects' Common Room.

"Hermione." Said Ron.

Hermione didn't answer.

Ron didn't bother to say her name again.
They arrived at the painting of the Prefects' Common Room.

"Password?" Asked the mermaid.

"Cockroach Clusters." Said Ron and Hermione.

They went in. Ron stayed in the kitchen.

"Chocolate donut." Said Ron.

A few seconds later, a plate with 2 chocolate donuts slid down to the counter. Ron started eating. As he was halfway to devouring the donut, Hermione came out of her room. She was wearing a pair of short shorts, a long t-shirt and her bushy hair was tied up in a ponytail.

"Can I have 1?" She asked Ron as she walked towards to kitchen.

Ron stared at her.

"Ron. We have house-elves. And besides, you've had enough donuts today." Said Hermione.

"Fine." Said Ron handing Hermione a donut.

"Thank you." Hermione replied.

It was a long moment of akward silence. Ron was thinking of the kiss. The kiss that seperated him and Hermione.
'To be fair' he thought 'She always kissed me first. It's her fault really.'
Hermione was thinking the very opposite. She was upset. Very upset in fact, she couldn't stand being next to that boy. The same boy that broke her heart.

"You didn't even thank me." Hermione blurted out.

"Thank you for what? Making my life miserable? Confusing me about your 'feelings'? That is, if you even have any. But, I know all you have is anger and sadness." Said Ron.

"That is it Ronald Bilius Weasley!" She said pounding the kitchen counter. "You really cut my nerves this time! If I didn't help you, you wouldn't be on the ruddy quidditch team! You wouldn't have aced any of your O.W.L.S.! And, this is how you repay me? Going off snogging another girl, being an arse, and making me feel horrible!" Yelled Hermione.

"You cheated?" Asked Ron.

"Yes Ronald! I cheated! For you! For the person I call a friend. For the person I loved! For the person that treats me like an arse!" Said Hermione breathing deeply.

Ron was ashamed. He just stared at Hermione.

"Well you were the one that kissed me!" Said Ron trying to defend himself.

"I did. I did Ronald. But you were the one that broke my heart. That broke OUR friendship." Said Hermione sternly, tears in her eyes.
"Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to bed. Before you go off and break my heart all over again." She then stormed off into her room, leaving a confused, sad and mad Ron in the kitchen.

The next morning was spent in the Prefects' Common Room. Ron was in 1 corner studying and Hermione was in another trying to answer her homework. Ron couldn't help but stare at Hermione for a few seconds. All of a sudden the door opened. Hermione stood up and got her wand out. So did Ron. The person coming through the door was a girl wearing pigtails.

"Hello Won-Won!" Said Lavender cheerfully skipping to Ron. She gave Ron a kiss.
"Excuse me." Said Lavender looking at Hermione.

"I thought only Ginny and Harry were the only ones that knew the password." Said Hermione with the tone of curiosity in her voice.

"I told him to give me the password." Said Lavender.
"Well, I forced Ginny to give it to me. You know Won-Won, rumor has it that Ginevra's cheating on Thomas!" She finished.

"You're snogging a gossip girl?" Asked Hermione.

"Er. Uh." Ron remained silent.

"Now, if you two don't mind; I'll be in the lavatory. Barfing." Said Hermione then heading to the bathroom.

"We got the whole room to ourselves Won-Won!" Hermione heard Lavender say as she closed the bathroom door.

"That arse." Whispered Hermione.
