Chapter 15: the due date

"___..?" The noise of your husbands weak voice made you jolt up, hitting your head on a lamp above the small wooden desk you had been sleeping on.

"Love?! A-are you okay? Do I need to get the nurse?" For the past week (and a bit) you had been by Sidon's bedside looking after him, like a normal wife should be able to do! Zelda took the job you offered her and was running the Kingdom in your absence.

The one thing that had been sending people into a panic was that it was around the 13th of November and your due date was tomorrow!
At that very point in time, your new assistant knight Henry was running around trying to get the carriage ready for the trip back to Hyrule Castle which Sidon would join you on.

Speaking of Sidon...

"No...no I'm fine ____" Sidon whispered to you as you leaned back in the creaky wooden chair you had been sat on for the past week (and a bit).
Adjusting his many pillows, he managed to sit himself up in the bed he was given.
"I was worrying dear I'm sorry." He gushed "look...this bed is huge ___ could you please share it with me? It's not healthy for you or our baby to get 3 hours sleep on an old, broken desk." He pleaded quietly. Mostly everyone was asleep, so waking them up would be a bad idea.

You gave it a little thought, you DID miss his warm hugs in the night and you DID miss his breath on your neck...
You gave in.
"Alright! You're too cute!" You giggled softly as you climbed into the humongous bed and lay next to your husband. You were like the size of an acorn compared to his large body, but that made hugs much more better.

One arm was wrapped around your waist as the other was stroking your hair. "Mmmm" you mumbled as his gentle touch on your hair felt so relaxing. Something you had been craving for weeks.

"Relax dear...shh" Sidon cooed, he had you laying on his inner arm/chest and soon enough you were dozing off.
Well, only for 4 hours!

I wonder what woke you up ayy?

"A-agggh!" You groaned, sitting up in the bed with a large "wet patch" surrounding your legs.
"Sidon..." you shook him awake.
Oh no, this wasn't good. You were almost positive that this was your waters breaking.

"___, it's early why are yo- Eww why is it wet?" Jumping out of the bed as if you were diseased, Sidon pulled a disgusted face at the fact that you "wet the bed" in his terms. (Apparently Zora pregnancy's aren't like Hylians)
"For the 4th time Sidon! It's my waters that broke not my god damn bladder!" You yelled.
Small, but painful cramps were beginning to hit your lower abdomen every 6-7 minutes or so.
Contractions.

"I think I should get a doctor or a nurse? What was that woman's name again...the Mid... Midpipe?"

"You mean Midwife?" You said unamused that he forgot such an important name.
"Ah yes! I'll go fetch her!" Sidon was already out the tent door before you could even say "wait get me some food!"

For the next 15 minutes, you were rocking back and forth on the floor since that was the most comfortable position.
"Queen ___! I hear you're in labour, congratulations the baby's early!" You're midwife walked in with open arms.

"Get it over and done with." You bluntly replied.
Happiness and joyfulness were not on the agenda today. No sir!

"Right away Ma'm!"
Sidon was told to wait outside or go somewhere else to stay until it was time to push. The main reason was because of his huge body.

"But why? I wish to stay" he moped
You told him to do as the Midwife said, or you would ban him from entering for a whole 24 hours!

You ended up banning him for 24 hours.

24 hours later

"PUSH ____!" Your midwife was giving as much encouragement as she could. This baby had been taking over a day to come out and only now you were begging to push!

"AGH!!" You groaned in pain as you pushed as hard as you could. Sidon was back with you, holding his hand but also terrified since you were screaming. A lot.

"It's okay baby! You're doing amazing ___!" Kissing your forehead as you gave one last push, Sidon gave you words of encouragement that made you feel like you only had one more push.

Silence.

A baby's cry could be heard, filling the tent with screams.

The baby was born! At last! You felt a heavy weight lift off you as the pain was taken away automatically when HE was placed in your arms.

Yeah, Hyrule has a new PRINCE along with Zora's Domain. And princes of Hyrule don't come often.

"He's beautiful ___..." Sidon took in the adorable sight straight after he cut the cord.
"He looks...Hylian.." he said disappointedly.
"No... look!" You said pointing to the small wisps of red hair, something he must have got from Sidon.

"Awww yay." Kissing his little head, Sidon looked you in the eyes and gave you that strong smile he was known for.

Now what to name him?

Hey! This took ages and I'm actually finishing it in the gym as I write this! Anyway as you may know we need a name for this little baba! If you have any suggestions please comment them and I'll use the best one! If you don't know, I'll come up with the default name I thought of a few weeks back.
