Trumpets were blasting tunes and everyone outside of the throne room could be heard going "oooooh" and "ahhhh" at the gowns or unexpected couples.
No one knew about you or Sidon. All the couples had to sign their names on a list (thankfully handled by Bazz) and walk down the great stair cases to to bottom of the domain. This showed off the gowns and how much the pair loved eachother! It was tradition that Prince Sidon would go last, yet he never went at all so no one would be expecting this at the end.
"One more couple to go" you heard over the speakers
'Gods that's us!' You thought. Gripping hold of Sidons hand in the throne room you were the only two left. Even King Dorephan was out of that pool he sat in everyday (don't ask how).
"Are you ready my little princess?" The Zora turned to look down at your nervous face. 'Relatable' the prince thought as he was freaking out himself. Not only did he have to show you off to his kingdom but many more races were there too...and his father. Yet he was quite excited too. The thought of everyone accepting the two of you made him feel proud!
"And finally the last couple! Prince Sidon and... PRINCESS ____!" There was quite a few "What?!" As you walked down to the first balcony (where the Zoras sleep)
There where everyone could see you two holding hands... the crowd erupted into cheers! Whistling! Whoops! They loved it!
Giving the people a wave, you looked up at Sidon who wrapped an arm around your waist and led you down to the ground floor where people made way for the two of you.
Stopping in front of Mipha's statue, the pair of you looked in King Dorephan's direction for approval. No words could be said to express the look of happiness in his face as Sidon pulled you up into a kiss while flowers were threw and loud 'suggesting' whistles were made.
Around 20 minutes later!
Everyone had pretty much begged the two of you to share how you got together. Who asked who? And was there any action?
Of course the last one was a no. Bar a lonnnng kiss.
But the thought made you giggle. Sidon just blushed every time! How cute.
The day was going amazing, Sidon was a real gentleman or.... 'gentlefish.' (I'm a genius I know)
He would buy you anything you set eyes on. Rings! Cakes! Cookies! He would even do the little silly games that would make him look stupid! "Just for you" he would say every time. Usually when anyone saw this they resulted to "AWWW" and pointing.
It got annoying but nothing could make you unhappy on this day.
Until there was some uh conflict.
You were sat at a rather large table, since Sidon and the King were known for their over 9ft height record. So you were put in a high chair that was especially made for guests of Hylian residents.
Again, being the loving boyfriend that he is Sidon went to go grab you your favourite drink as the table ran out. That was fine though, you enjoyed the little conversation you and the King were having about Sidon's crush on you 100 years ago.
"Indeed, every time I would say a guest from hyrule was coming he would light up thinking it could have been you." The large fish's laughter made the table shake. Laughing too you had no idea on how much he actually liked you! "Aww young Sidon was so shy! Who could have guessed looking at him now..."
Interrupted by guards shouting into the royal patio you were taken aback on what they were reporting.
"A fight!" Shouted one,
"Between who?!" You gasped, as another guard helped you off the high chair.
"Uh your lover Milady" another admitted
"And the Hylian Champion..." came a voice behind you. Dorephan was over-watching the pot throwing and sword slashing 'fight'.
"Oh nooo!" You groaned as a guard guided you out of the patio and by the main part of the Domain.
"Has he still managed to hold my drink?!" You asked facepalming. Yes indeed. The Zora prince had a sword in one hand and your drink in the other. It seemed he was really desperate to give it to you, perhaps it was the last one in the back.
"Sidon!" You yelled.
*slash*
*slash*
"SIDON STOP!"
Silence. You used some royal power to extend your voice over everyone. Many were in fear as Sidon walked over to your angry figure.
"I got you the last drink?" He said sheepishly. That hot grin wasn't going to get you this time.
You snatched it out of his hands and was about to throw it on him when you realised it would do nothing as he is...well a fish.
*stomp*
Your silver heels pounding loudly towards Link. Dumping the cup over his blonde locks you ask him how it started.
"Ask your 'boyfriend'" was the reply you got.
"I asked you!" You barked back, clearly taken aback by this sudden out burst of rage, Link bit his lip and looked down angrily before confessing.
"It's not fair!" He said pouting like a little child.
"I've known you for practically all my life! We grew up together! You trained me too..!" He began
"Why does Prince Sidonnnn and his abs and good looks get you?! Surely I would be a better choice ____!" Link had caught everyone's attention with his childish fit. But you couldn't help but take pity on your old friend. He was right, you had known Link longer. But Sidon was there when you broke free, he made sure that you were looked after when injured and his people loved you.
Not that Link hasn't helped you. Just you don't like him that way...plus you knew Zelda had a secret thing for him too.
Sibling rivalry was not what you needed right now.
"Look Link..." You rested a gloved hand on his shoulder and continued. "I'm sorry. As much as I do love you it's just not in the same way you love me. I'm not the last girl in Hyrule though! You have so many others to choose from."
"But I chose you!" He exclaimed
"I know you do. But my heart is with Sidon. Link I'm sorry but please don't make mine and Sidon's life miserable because of this."
You knew he would never want you to be upset, so he nodded. With that he bowed and took a swift leave. When his figure could be no longer seen, the fare went on as if nothing ever happened.
(Time skip to maybeee 6:21 pm exactly)
*sigh*
You lay on your bed, looking at your glass ceiling. Alone. Thinking about if you had just lost a friend.
"I'm sorry Link" you muttered to yourself as you held up a photo frame of the two of you aged 8 and 10. Placing the frame back on the bedside table next to you, you sat up on the edge of the bed.
You still had your dress on. No need for it now, everyone was slow dancing and you definitely didn't feel up to showing your face there again tonight.
Then as soon as you were about to change...
*knock*
*knock*
"Come in." You said bluntly, Sidon popped his head around the door first before coming in.
"Sweet heart are you alright...?" His asked pulling you close.
For some reason he didn't smell like fish. Even though he was one. He smelled of sweet scents that you couldn't describe but it was really relaxing!
"I'm fine.." you mumbled, talking into a chest so large wasn't going to come out clear.
"I was wondering....Since I would do anyyytthingg for you...If you would dance with me. You know, to romantic music?" Sidon had a cute pleading voice when he asked you.
Moving away from his grasp you looked out from the balcony, to see maybe 20+ people still there.
Not as much as there were but still. What would they all think of you? Was it wrong what you did?
"Sidon. Was it wrong what I did?"
"No dear."
"But..."
"It was perfectly normal for a lady to say that if it was one sided love" stopping you from answering with another 'But!' He leant down and kissed you.
"____ darling you have me by your side, you will be fine"
That convinced you to dance the night away in the arms of your lover. With about 20 other people but who cared!
He was there for you and no one dared to speak a word as you gazed into each others eyes all night under the sun set.
