In darkened rooms, late at night, they are awake. Hunched over desks, surrounded with candy wrappers, they are waiting. Staring. Watching the clock. 11:46. So close that they can nearly begin to fulfill their odd purposes, and yet they must be patient. It's not long now. 11:57, and their eyes widen in anticipation. Then, it is midnight, and they can begin. It's late, and at first, the the work is slow. Fingers slowly plunk down on keyboards. They are all over the United States, and although the journey will be different for each, the end goal is the same.
50,000 words in a single month.
November has begun, and with it, NaNoWriMo. Thousands have begun, but how many will finish what they started? Each writer works furiously at his or her story, desperate to not be one of the many who will fail to reach their goal, or worse: give up part of the way through. Many obstacles stand in their way, and countless sacrifices. Choices will be made, and keyboards will catch fire. Hundreds of heads will slam into desks in an effort to combat the dreaded writers' block. And you most definitely will be losing sleep over this if you aren't already a professional writer. All of this in order to achieve the ultimate prize: an email saying that you won.
NANOWRIMO
Not gonna lie, this was a ton of fun to write, since I myself have writers' block. Hope you enjoyed this summary of NaNoWriMo!
