Quickly! One, two, one, two, and end with a quick step. Veer right, no left, a player comes up from behind. Swerve, that's the kicker, just a few more steps. The goal is right before his eyes. He's racing against the clock here, seconds left on the scoreboard. He aims-
A loud shriek pulled Minho out of his fantasy hockey game, his body losing balance as he searched for the culprit. He spied two boys on the other end of the rink, one fearful for his life while the other attempted to coax the boy forward.
"Jeongin, you said you wanted to learn how to skate."
"I changed my mind!" Presumably, Jeongin wailed, holding on to the railing behind him for dear life. The boy in front of him sighed deeply, holding out his hand.
"I'm right here if you need me." He tried again, edging closer for Jeongin to take his hand. Jeongin - still apparently nervous - refused, biting his lip as he shook his head.
Another sigh escaped the red haired boy, but he doesn't seem keen on giving up. He turned and well, Minho, Minho forgot what he was doing all of a sudden. He watched as the red haired boy glides forward, effortless against the ice. He swiftly skated back, demonstrating just how easy ice skating can be. Jeongin watched in awe, the same feeling stirring up inside Minho. He watched on for a moment too long, hurriedly turning away as he realizes how odd he must look. His face flamed in embarrassment, wondering if the boys had noticed his staring. Before he could peek one last time, calls of his name ruined the moment.
"Minho! Did you forget we were watching a movie today!"
"Come on, get your butt over here so we can go." His teammates holler from the opposite side of the railing. Even more red coated his cheeks as he sped toward them, wanting to hide away from the world. Normally, his teammates banter didn't bother him, but in knowing the red haired boy could be watching, he felt like the world should swallow him whole.
"You look a little flush, mate. You getting sick?" Chan raised his hand to Minho's forehead, assessing his temperature. As team captain, Chan is entitled to care for his teammates. However, his inner mother hen always comes out more often than not. This was one of those instances.
"I'm fine." Minho protested, swatting away his hand and joining them on the other side.
"He was probably checking out the girls." Felix teased, wagging his finger at him like a dog. Had there been girls on the rink? Minho hadn't noticed.
"Let's just go, yeah?" The pair nodded and Minho skidded to the locker room so quickly, he never got the chance to sneak another look at the red haired boy.
