"Breng me naar het meer"
————————————————A knock on the door brought Jack back from his thoughts. He looked at Brook and Mikey, who had fallen asleep, totally exhausted of all the crying. They had sought help in each other and were holding each other as if their lives were depending on it. Maybe in this case it did.
As he went to open the door, Jack's eye fell on Alex and Robbie, who also had fallen asleep in each others arms.
They had been talking and crying for at least an hour and now it was two hours after they had found the letters.
Jack opened the door and saw Blair standing, Harvey next to him, eyes all red and puffy.
"Hi Jack, have you heard anything from them?" Blair asked, his voice quite stable, but with a trembling undertone.
The young boy shook his head. "Nothing," he sighed.
"How are the others doing?"
Jack held the door open for Blair and Harvey to enter. "Go see for yourself. By the way, you two also got, you know, a-"
In the middle of the sentence he broke down. He sat down on the floor and put his head in his hands.
"I don't understand, why did they do this?" he cried. "They seemed so happy yesterday."
A pair of arms were wrapped around him and Jack laid down his head on their shoulder. He vaguely noticed it was Harvey and from the corner of his eye he saw Blair getting to the kitchen, where the others were.
After a while, Harvey let go of Jack and wiped the tears away from Jack's cheek.
"One day it's gonna be okay again," he whispered, but Jack shook his head.
"Roadtrip isn't Roadtrip without them, Harv," the younger boy replied. "And we still don't know if they really, yeah, or if they're still-"
Jack's voice started shaking again, but he managed to hold back his tears this time.
"I see, but let's hope they're okay then. Let's just hope Rye managed to stop Andy from doing it. I'm sure Rye did."
Jack nodded and stood up, with a little help from Harvey.
"Let's get to the others then," Jack said.
They entered the room and found everyone awake this time, still holding each other.
Blair was talking to Robbie, Alex's arm was laid around Robbie's shoulders.
Jack couldn't hear what they were saying, but it was clearly visible that Robbie was crying. Poor Robbie.
Brook was staring at the floor, with Mikey next to him, who kept talking to the younger boy, sniffing every now and then.
"Harvey, there is an envelope for you on the cooking island," Blair quickly said to Harvey and went back to Robbie with his attention.
Harvey took the envelope, his hands shaking. He opened it and tried to read it, but his hands were shaking too much. Tears fell out of his eyes and he could do nothing but feel weak.
Before he knew, Jack had wrapped his arms around him and laid the blond boy's head on his shoulder.
He put his arms around Jack and let all the tears he had left in his body escape. Sobs rolled over his lips and he felt so insanely weak for crying.
Time flew by where all the boys sought support at each other and their manager.
Eventually, the doorbell rang. Everyone's eyes flew towards the hallway and silence fell over the small group.
"I'll go get it," Blair softly said.
Mikey was mad at their manager for being this calm, even though Andy and Rye could be dead. It made him feel like Blair didn't care enough about them, even though he knew that wasn't true.
Blair walked back in the room, some serious looking police officers behind him.
"No..."
Mikey turned his head to Brooklyn, who was sat next to him.
"No. No, no, no! They can't be dead! The- they can't be dead!" the younger boy screamed and punched the wall next to him. "They fucking can't be dead! They- they said they wouldn't leave me. Andy said he wouldn't leave me."
Tears were streaming down the boy's face again. He was utterly broken, all of them were.
"We're here to announce the bodies have been found," one of the officers said quietly. "They were found on the east coast, holding each other. Andy Fowler and Ryan Beaumont."
That was theast drop Brooklyn needed to entirely break down. He cried and cried, for more than an hour before he finally fell asleep again. Blair finished some stuff with the police officers before they left, Alex was still trying to comfort Robbie and tried to be there for his friend as much as he could. Jack and Harvey just held each other, seeking support at each other.
Mikey sat next to Brooklyn and stroke the younger boy's hair. Knowing he would never see two of his best mates again, hurt so much. It hurt so fucking much.
