My eyes flutter open and the first thing I see is Slade... sitting on the table in front of me. "Light!" he stands up. I flinch and he sits back down. "How do you feel?" he asks while playing with his hands.

I start to breathe heavy. "W-where am I?"

"My house... well, my room. You were knocked unconscious... so we bought you back here" he pauses and I frown. "Light, you're okay now" he stands up. I sit up and look around. "What's wrong?" he asks, but I remain silent. "Light" he tries to get my attention.

I look at him. "You were supposed to be different" I say.

"Different? What?" he asks.

"I thought we were friends... I thought you were gonna change your ways for me" I say and his face falls.

"We are friends!" he says.

"Friends wouldn't threaten to kill the other one" I stand up. "I'm going home"

He takes my hand. "Light please... I didn't mean it! I needed a way to get you out of there!"

I pull my hand back. "You shouldn't have said it" I walk off.

I wait for him to stop me...

but he doesn't...

because that's who Slade Archer is.

"Are you okay?..." Kaitlyn asks.

I turn to her. "Yes"

"You're always with Slade.. something is wrong" she frowns.

I sigh. "Kaitlyn, I know you're trying to be a good friend, but I just really don't wanna talk about him right now"

She nods and smiles. "I get it! So... are you doing anything this weekend?"

I shake my head. "Nope"
