Leo POV
"Well, should we start, then? Everyone should be here by 6 pm."
"Sounds like plenty of time. Okay, I'll get the hams, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pies."
"Then I'll make turkey, hen, yams, apple pies, cranberry sauce, and turkey gravy."
"Cool!" I say with a smile. She washes and begins pulling things out. I watch for a couple minutes before pulling myself into reality and helping.
I begin by cutting some vegetables. "Wow, dude, you're like a pro chef. What the hell?" She crosses her arms, looking surprised.
"I used to watch cooking shows and my mom and I cooked together. No big deal." I shrug.
"Aww, mama's boy! How cute." She gushes.
I try to hold back my embarrassment. "Whatever."
"Under that leader shell, you're a softie at heart. Am I wrong?"
"Smash the cranberries and shut up." I direct.
She smiles. "Adorable!"
"Shut up.." I grumble, my cheeks flushing.
Her smile brightens and I look back at the carrots and continue to cut.
We take a break after we finish chopping vegetables and making the cranberry sauce. We plan to make everything around 12 pm so they have time to cook, but are still hot and fresh out of the oven. I sit down on the couch. I have two hours to hang out with Libra.
"Do you mind if I go shower?" She asks, rubbing her arm.
"Of course not. Do ya thang." I respond.
"I'll be back soon."
"No rush, take your time." I smile. "Although, if you're more than half an hour, I'm coming up there." I joke. She slightly laughs. "I'm kidding."
She nods and jogs off. If you're more than half an hour, I'm coming up there. Seriously? Why the hell did I say that? Dumbass, dumbass, dumbass...
I shake it off and get up. I walk over to the hallway that leads to the door. I inspect her photos on the wall. One is of her and her family. She's smiling, and you can see the happiness in her eyes. In another one, it's her and Sagittarius. In that picture, Libra is sitting in a shopping cart as Sagittarius pushes her down a driveway, and they're laughing. They have such a strong friendship... Well, they did before Sagittarius slept with Aquarius while Aquarius was with her best friend. That was pretty shallow. I don't wanna know what's gonna happen today when we're all at the dinner table together.
I move on to the next picture as I wait for Libra to finish.
Virgo POV
"I'm fine! I can go!" I whine.
"Fine! But we have to cover up your cuts," Scorpio says gently. He grazes his finger over a couple of my cuts. His touch sends a chill down my spine.
I close my eyes for a second and regain control. "Okay." I say.
Group Chat
Virgo- Scorpio and I are coming.
Gem- Really?! Yay! I miss you.
Leo- excited to see you too. It's been a couple days. Where have you been?
Virgo- um nowhere just home. Sick.
Leo- k.. well libra and I are cooking so I gotta go
Aquarius- You cook? Oh dude that's hilarious
Leo- why?
Aquarius- you're all macho macho
Libra- until he gets into the kitchen hehe
Leo- shut up
I smile. I look up at Scorpio. "Stop." I murmur.
"What?"
"For the past few days, you've been inspecting me like if you look away, I'm going to snap like a twig."
"I just want to make sure you're okay," He says.
"I assure you I'm 110% okay."
"I can't believe that. I'm sorry, but you used to tell me you were okay, then you went home and I found out you were cutting."
"I'm not gonna cut," I say angrily.
"Don't get mad. I just care about you."
"I don't need a bodyguard, thank you very much."
"Well, if you're not gonna guard your body, I need to."
"Oh my gosh, I'm not going to cut!"
"I'm not leaving your side until I'm sure you're gonna be fine."
"Well, you can't watch me in the bathroom, so I'm gonna go shower. Buh-bye!" I jump up and run away.
"VIRGOOO!" He yells. "Fuck."
