Leo POV
Libra begins to clean up as I finish setting the table. I lean against the counter and shake up the whipped cream, putting my head back and flooding my mouth with the whipped cream. I close my mouth and the whip falls on my chin.
"Oop," I say, my mouth full. I wipe my finger across my chin and lick it.
"Eww, dude!!!"
"What?! It's so good," I groan and refill my mouth.
She snatches the can from my hand. "No!" She yells.
"Why?!" I pout.
"It's disgusting."
"But-"
"Deal with it and clean."
I cross my arms and walk over to the counter, beginning to pick up stuff and put them where they belong.
2 hours later, people begin arriving. Cancer, Gemini, and Taurus are the first ones here.
I see Libra wink at Cancer and nod her head at Taurus. Cancer rolls her eyes and looks away.
"Happy Thanksgiving." Taurus says.
"To you too." I say.
"Everyone should be arriving soon, so you could just sit and wait if you'd like." Libra says.
We go to the living room and sit down.
"Umm, you..." Gemini begins.
"What?" I ask.
"You have a little something on your chin..."
I wipe my chin with my finger and look at the dot of whipped cream. My cheeks flush in embarrassment and Libra smirks.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I pout to Libra.
"It's funny."
"I can fire you, ya know."
"You wouldn't. I'm too special," she flips her hair.
I roll my eyes and sit. She's right, I wouldn't fire her. But not because she's 'too special.' She's just a good teacher.
I get up to get the door as everyone engages in conversation. It's Sagittarius.
"Hi," she says, nervously holding her arm.
"Hey. Come in?"
"Wait." She says.
I turn back. "Yeah?"
"Umm, do you think Libra is... Still hung up on the whole Aquarius situation..?"
Hung up on? Her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. "She seems fine." I reply, holding back a cold tone.
"Are you sure?"
"Nope. You're here now, though. So come in."
She looks down but comes inside anyway. She's walks into the living room and everything gets quiet.
Libra POV
Sag comes in and I feel like my face just went pale. We haven't talked since she admitted what she'd done.
"Umm, now introducing... Sagittarius!" Leo says with jazz hands. I know he's trying to lighten the mood, but it isn't working.
"Can we talk, Li?" She says. Her tone suggests sympathy.
I stand up and lead her away to the kitchen.
"Look, I'm sorry..." She starts, but I interrupt her.
"This is a good night. I don't want it ruined."
"We have to face it, Li, it isn't gonna go away because we ignor--"
"How could you?!"
"I didn't know you were with him! You were secretly dating. And you think it didn't hurt me when I found out?!"
"Why the hell would it hurt you?!" I say, anger strong in my voice.
She crosses her arms and looks down. "You knew how I felt about him, Li. This isn't some high school drama where I had a simple crush on him. He was someone I wanted to be with, someone I could see myself with in the future." Her voice softens.
"You were never even with him. How could you make that judgment?"
"How could you do that to me when you knew how I felt? If you had told me you had the same feelings for him, I would've tried to let him go. Li, you're more important to me than a guy, but you stabbed me in the back, and it was painful. It still is."
"Can we put this behind us, please?" I put my hand on my head, trying to hold back tears.
"Of course... But tell me, and be honest.. do you still have feelings for him?"
I look up at her eyes. "I don't know. He cheated on me. It was the most painful thing, but I had feelings for him too, and I don't know if they're gone." She's silent and nods her head. "What about you?"
"I still like him."
"He's all yours, then." I say.
"Li, no. He's not worth it if it hurts you."
"It won't hurt me. Plus, I have my eye on somebody else as well.."
She pulls me in for a hug. "I will never let some guy get between us again. You're more important to me than any guy in the world... And on a more serious note," she pulls away and puts both hands on my shoulders. She stares me dead in the eye, "If this guy you're talking about cheats on you like Aquarius did, I will kill him with my bare hands."
"Thanks. But aren't you worried that Aquarius will cheat on you?"
I shrug. "It's something to consider... But he was drunk."
"And if he gets drunk again?"
"Then you'll make sure he gets beat."
"Damn right."
