Your POV

"Miss. Chung. There has been an urgent meeting about one of our departments."

I closed my laptop and sighed. Zhengting got up along with me. Recently also got a new secretary. My former secretary decided to resign. I agreed and gave her one last dinner with the company. It was a sad farewell since she has been here when I was still in my early teen years.

My new secretary, she's phenomenal. Like absolutely amazing. Her full name is Yang Anna. She grew up in Taiwan but moved to the UK when she was 14. Needless to say. She's amazing.

"Yangmi," Zhengting calls as he putting on his blazer.

"Remember. Always be sharp. Don't let anything distract you. Focus." He was strict and stern when it comes to working. Especially when it's not good news.

All of us from the designing department all headed to the meeting room.

I sat in the big grand chair at the very end, Zhengting said right next to me while everyone took their seats. Ms. Yang stood at in her own chair and listened.

The whole room was silent. Until Zhengting elbowed me slightly.

I coughed awkwardly and said, "What's the emergency?". No one spoke up.

Zhengting then scared everyone by slamming his hands on the table, along with getting up and glaring at everyone.

"If no one tells me what happens. I will fire each, and every one of you."

Tell me you wouldn't be scared or frighten from his threat or glare

"Zhengting... You can't do that." I whispered. But he acted like he didn't hear me.

"I will say this again. Speak up now. Or every one of you will not have a job within the next 30 seconds." Everyone who was sitting around the table eyes flared up in frightening.

Scared that they would lose their jobs only in a matter of seconds.

"10. 9. 8..."

"IT'S MY FAULT!" Finally, someone stood up; either taking the blame or actually owning up to their wrongs. "I-I forgot that we had to hand in our new design for the new library we are building..."

I signed hard. The design was supposed to be handed in a week ago. The new library that was in the process of designing was now delayed... The blueprints... how far behind are they?

"How far behind are the design and blueprints of the library?" I spoke up. My employee stood up; she ducked her head down. "W-We are almost done. Still. Our investors... they-"

"Enough. Because of you, the company has been affected greatly. I'm sorry. But we are going to let you go." Zhengting says calmly. She stands up from her chair, bowed once before thanking us and everything.

I let out a loud sigh. "Meeting over. Get back to work." I quickly left the room and stormed back to my office. I slammed the door loudly before Zhengting opened the door.

"What the hell was that?" I yelled, throwing my hands in the air while he just slipped his hands into his pockets and stood there.

"You can't just fire my employees!"

"Hell. I can do whatever I want. Your father put me in charge of you, which means I have the rights to."

I ran my fingers through my hair. I was frustrated.

"What give you the rights? Huh? Because you are my so-call mentor you can act like this company belongs to you? Wake up Zhu Zhengting! It freaking doesn't!! The rules and guidelines in your company don't affect or happen in mine!"

"Tch... I did the right thing. Firing her was the right thing to do. To prevent if anything like this happens again."

I really couldn't do this anymore. I need to leave. I don't want to see his face anymore. I don't want to keep arguing with him.

So what I did... and what I have always been doing since I was a kid was just running away from my situations. Running away was only the best way to solve my situations.

Well... solving it only on my behalf.

I ran out on to the streets and walked to a nearby cafe. Along the way, I bumped into someone by accident. I fell to the ground, scraping my palm a bit.

"I-I'm so sorry! I wasn't seeing where I was going." I quickly apologized and bowed several times.

"It's okay. But your hand. It's bleeding."

The guy who I bumped helped bandaged up my hand. He was... handsome, and gentle.

"Thank you. Truly, thank you. You don't see this very often." I broke the silence.

"What do you mean?"

"After bumping into someone, they don't just bring you into a nice cafe and help bandage up their injury."

He lets out a chuckle, showing his teeth and jawline. It was so attractive and very cute they way he avoided me and laughed to himself.

"Uhm... Chung Yangmi." I introduced, offering my hand. He shakes my hand back and introduces himself.

"Zhu Jianyu. A pleasure to meet you."
