Your POV
"Not everything needs a perfect contract. Just paper and pen."
I then grabbed a pen wrote down an agreement where I sold my company into Zhengting's ownership.
"Yah!! What are you doing?!" Jianyu yelled. I quickly grabbed Zhengting's finger, bit it hard until blood came out and pressed it against the paper.
"There! This company is in the ownership of Zhu Zhengting now. It no longer belongs to me." I declared.
"Tch. This is just paper, pen and blood. It doesn't prove anything. There are no regulations." Jianyu smirked.
"This paper has my handwriting on it, along with Zhengting's DNA and fingerprint. What more could you need in a contract?"
Jianyu's face darkened. "You idiot! Do you know what you have done! GET ME THAT PAPER AND SHRED IT!"
At that moment the door burst open. Revealing a middle-aged man.
"Zhu Jianyu."
"B-Baba! What are you doing here?" Jianyu says nervously.
"I called uncle to come here," Zhengting says. "I called him early this morning, promising to give him a small start-up company as a truce between my father and my uncle."
I looked at Zhengting with admiration. He then averted his eyes back to me and smiled. "I promise to do anything to protect this company of yours... didn't I?"
Unknowingly, I quickly wrapped my arms around him tightly. I felt him hug me back, patting my head.
"Thank you..."
"Zhu Jianyu, you have crossed the line this time!" Jianyu's father yelled.
"Uncle. I think it's best if you and cousin leave now. We have some matters to resolve right now." Zhengting says formally. His uncle and Jianyu left the conference room, leaving only mama, baba, Zhengting and me.
There was a long silence... until I saw his finger that was still bleeding. "Zhengting! Your still bleeding! I-I'm so sorry! If you would have told me sooner I wouldn't hav-"
"It's okay." He calmly says, placing his hand on my shoulder. At this moment... I never realized how handsome he was, or how caring and kind. So much regret ran through my mind...
Why didn't I realize sooner?... Why did I fall for the wrong Zhu?
"Zhengting... son. Thank you for saving our family. Along with the company-"
"I will give it back sir. Don't worry."
"No..." Baba shook his head. "Keep it. Take care of it in the time being."
Zhengting tilted his head. "Why do you want me to keep it?"
I smiled at him. "Because you are the youngest and most successful CEO in China."
__________
That night when Zhengting and I came back home we didn't talk. Something felt off... and I also needed to tell him something as well...
When I was in my room, I decided to come downstairs. Where I found him looking at the city's skyline.
I walked closer towards him and sighed. "Zhengting. I want to tell you somethin-"
Before I could finish my sentence he cut me off by crashing his body against mine. I wrapped his arms around me tightly.
"Can we stay like this... just for a little bit." He softly says.
"I was so scared today," I mumbled against his shoulder.
"I was too... I was afraid that something bad might really happen."
We didn't say anything else after until we pulled away.
"Zhengting... I need to tell you something."
"What?"
"I decided to move to... um, America." Once I said that I noticed the look in his face changed.
"What?..."
I inhaled harshly. "I applied into Harvard Medical School again... and I was accepted."
Zhengting then suddenly smiled. But I knew he just trying to make me happy. "Congratulations. I know you'll do great things."
"Zhengting-ah... I want you to take care of my company. Until I come back."
"And how long will that take?"
"... About 5 years."
I knew I was asking for a lot. And we have only known each other for a year or so. But I trust him that he will fulfill my request.
"Okay. I'll be waiting."
