Selya loved weddings.
For a long time she dreamed of her own perfect wedding but fate didn't make it happen sooner like she'd expected and with what's been happening to her relationships lately Selya had a nagging feeling that wedding bells for her were still a far off.
The weather was warm, the sky is as clear as can be, perfect for Regina's wedding. The simple arch decorated with roses on one side of the garden was beautiful and the flower arrangement was divine. Everything was bright beginning from the bride herself dressed in a stunning white tulle gown with her bridesmaids which consisted of Kate, Tori and three of Regina's friends all looked radiant in their lemon green outfits. Selya was honoured to be a part of such lovely occasion, sharing the joy of a family she wished she was a part of even if it's just for a while.
She suddenly felt an itch for her camera, it had been a while since she'd been able to see the world through her lens.
When Selya was a girl she always had a story for every photograph, ones she took and ones she didn't. So when Avery gave her the opportunity to write for Nocturne, Selya couldn't say no and after she'd gotten the job at she had let herself become too comfortable, abandoning her dream of being a wedding photographer for a top magazine but now that she no longer thought about her job at Nocturne as her only hope Selya felt liberated and excited to start this new project she had in mind, it would be a special wedding gift for Regina.
Selya had a blast clicking away, she hadn't felt so much thrill in quite a long time. She captured the smiles, the laughter, looks of love and so much excitement. This was what she loved to do and she isn't giving it up for anything in the world
Selya felt her breath caught in her throat as Wade flashed her one of his easy smiles when his eyes locked with hers in the crowd with Regina by his side, her hand in the crook of his arm.
The marching song began at that moment and she couldn't wrap her head around how utterly good looking he was at that moment that she couldn't resist capturing the moment over and over again.
Thoughts of the kiss they shared last night made her heart pound right out of her chest, the same thought that had kept her awake for the better part of the night where she wondered what it all meant. None of them spoke about it and though a part of Selya was relieved that there was no awkwardness between them, another part of her wanted to know if he was on edge as she was because of the kiss.
Selya's attention reverted back to the bride and she's sure everyone could see the look of love shimmering in Regina's eyes. The groom was grinning like one who had won a million bucks, he most certainly have seeing as Regina Ashburn is one in a million.
Tears almost fell from Selya's eyes as they swore undying love to each other. It was so beautiful and unique that she found herself silently wishing she would someday have someone to share that undying love with.
Selya had never felt so happy before and wished the weekend wouldn't end so she wouldn't have to face reality but who was she kidding. And since she couldn't change reality, she would have fun and enjoy the sumptuous food and smooth wine. She laughed and danced and drank and danced some more.
''You are full of energy aren't you? And you look more happier and more radiant than the bride herself you know it's never right to outshine the bride.'' Wade teased smiling down at her as he held her close when the upbeat music changed to a slow romantic number.
She shrugged. ''I've never had so much fun in a while.''
''I pray that you find someone who'd keep you happy and cherish that beautiful laughter of yours.'' Wade didn't know why saying those words felt like he had stabbed himself in the gut but he wouldn't be selfish, she deserved to be happy and he won't let himself interfere.
