"Loki."

A deep voice echoed off the rocks laying beside the god of mischief, the sound, though familiar, sent uneasy chills up his back. Turning to face it, Loki sighed, meeting the blue eyes of his adoptive brother.

"Fancy meeting you here." The trickster joked, leaning against the rock wall to his right.

"I see you got my message." Thor replied.

"The raven was a bit ominous, don't you think?"

"Loki, I need your help."

"You don't speak to me for a year and now you want my help?" Loki scoffed. "You left me alone to live among these mortals, stripped of my powers. You have no idea how miserable my life has become. Although, you really don't care, do you?"

"I'm sorry father banished you here." Thor sighed. "And as much as I wanted to come visit you, I had other things to take care of."

"Oh, right. Flaunting around this world with your new superheroes pals."

"We were saving innocent people." Thor defended, his eyes narrowing.

"No one is truly innocent." Loki's voice lowered to barely above a whisper.

"There is one. She was delivered an unfortunate fate, and it might be too late to stop it."

"What are you going on about?"

"It's the reason I called you here." Thor swallowed slowly. "S.H.I.E.LD. has done something terrible."

"What?" Loki asked, cocking his head in intrigue. "Brother, tell me what they've done."

"They've replicated parts of your DNA, Loki. They used samples from your blood and plan to insert the strands written for your abilities into another."

"What?" Loki stood at high alert. "That's impossible. Where would they have-"

"When they brought you in before the war in New York, they took your blood in the jet."

"I had always wondered why, but now it all makes sense." The god aggrievedly ran his fingers through his raven hair. "How long have they been working on this?"

"My best guess? Since you first made an appearance on Earth over a year ago."

Loki let out a ragged breath, pacing from one end of the hill to the next. When he paused, he barely turned his head to look over his shoulder to where Thor was standing behind him.

"You said you met someone who was delivered an unfortunate fate. Is she the one to be injected with my DNA?"

"It might even run through her veins as we speak."

"Who is she?" Loki asked, turning fully around to face him.

"As far as I know, she works in the labs. But with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ranking system, she must have been a part of a more private sector because I've never seen her before. What I do know is that she didn't volunteer for this. Fury tricked us all into thinking that what she was going through was only customary. I happened to come across their lab a few days ago and discovered their plans. I knew I couldn't do anything to help her until I came to you."

"Do you believe they're planning to use her against me?"

"If they were, I wouldn't know. Fury wouldn't trust me with that type of information."

"So what do you expect from me?" Loki questioned.

"I was hoping to get your help breaking her out. If she's already affected, then even further with understanding and controlling her powers."

"And what makes you think I'll help you?"

"Because I know what you went through as a child growing up with magic. You had our mother to help you with control, but this girl will have nobody. Please, Loki. She doesn't deserve any of this. If I have a chance to save her before she's harmed, I'm going to do everything I can to do so. I'm hoping you will too."

"Alright, I'll help you." Loki nodded. "But, only if you have Odin lift his ban of my magic when we're finished."

"You have my word." Thor replied thankfully.
