Loki could see it in her eyes before the glass window shattered like a waterfall around them. The shards fell to the concrete floor and pinged around the room, nailing both brothers despite their heavy leather attire. As quickly as he could, the god of mischief blocked the glass with his forearm and ducked his face away from harm, making his way towards the trembling girl. When the only sound left was Cora's heavy breathing, Loki made a dash for her, enfolding her small form in his arms and placing a hand on the side of her cheek. Despite her thrashing and screaming, he held on tightly as the power flowed through her veins, the sharp pieces of glass rising off the floor the more rowdy she became. Loki closed his eyes and fed Cora his thoughts, pouring only one word into her mind.

Relax.

To their left, Thor watched in horror as the glass continued to rise from the ground, slowly starting to spin around the room. No matter how tough he was, he knew his brutish form was nothing compared to her new and uncontrollable powers. As the sharp objects spiraled faster, he turned to his brother with pleading eyes. Fortunately, as quickly as the glass had rose, it slowed and returned to the ground with a clatter in a matter of minutes. Thor released a sigh of relief as Loki held Cora until her breathing slowed.

"You're safe. You're okay." Loki whispered as he loosened his hold. "Breathe. Take a deep breath."

Cora, surprisingly, didn't fight to be free from his arms, but rather remained nestled against his chest as she tried to get ahold of herself. She looked up at Loki with wide eyes, her lips parting slowly.

"H-how did you do that?" Her brown eyes searched Loki's own in curiosity. "How did you get it to stop?"

"Practice." Loki replied, brushing back a piece of her hair behind her ear. "You have my magic inside of you, which means I'm the only one who knows how to control it."

"But I don't understand." Cora shook her head. "I overheard some of the agents say that when you were banished here, your magic was taken away."

"It was. At least most of it, anyway. Odin took my physical magic, but I still have my telepathic abilities. Sometimes I think he left them just to torture me."

"You're a telepath? Is that how you were able to speak to me through my mind to calm me down?"

"Yes."

"Do I possess telepathic abilities too?" Cora asked with wide eyes.

"If you were injected with the DNA strands that contain the full capacity of my powers, then I don't see why you shouldn't."

"What other abilities did you have?" She continued warily.

"I could teleport, shape shift, and was telekinetic as well." Loki replied, taking her hands in between his own as he caught sight of her trembling. "But we will learn about your abilities as they come, alright? No need to worry as of now."

Cora didn't respond, simply holding her gaze on her hands wrapped in his. When he lifted his top hand to tilt her chin up to face him, she winced, her eyes darting away.

"You're still afraid of me." Loki sighed, releasing her.

"How could I not be?" Cora whispered faintly. "You killed so many people and did so many horrible things."

"But yet you let me comfort you. Why?"

"Because I realized you're the only person who can help me control whatever is going on inside of me."

"I do want to help you, Cora." Loki spoke softly. "Growing up with magic was no easy task. All the training and learning that I went through was something that I used every day. If I can aid you in the way I was shown, I want to. No one should be left to deal with something like this on their own."

"How do I know I can trust you?" Cora murmured.

"You don't." Loki shrugged his shoulders. "But you can trust Thor. And if in some strange turn of events I ultimately betray you, you will have him to keep you safe."

"So what do you say?" Thor smiled warmly as he watched Loki help her to her feet.

Cora looked at both brothers cautiously before she sighed, nodding her head in agreement.
