He was in the same restaurant as you and was too nervous to approach you with your friends. Eventually after a pep talk he came up to you and asked for your number, and you very happily gave it to him.

Nat:

You were a civilian at one of the battles the Avengers fought. It was in the evening and you were tired from a day of work and nearly got crushed from a falling piece of billboard, but Natasha pulled you out of the way. You stood looking at each other for a minute before she vanished, but you found she had put her number in your jacket pocket and you felt like you should call and say thank you.

Tony:

You had mutual friends, but when you first met you could not get his name right. He found it adorable and after that it became a running gag to see what ridiculous things you could think of to call him.
