"Accepting yourself, and your mistakes, is one of the greatest challenges you'll probably ever face." Demi discussed at our meeting the next day.
"By doing so," she continued, "you can clear your mind and move on to bigger and better things."
The room stayed silent. I guess everyone was really thinking about what she had to say for once.
Demi then looked at her watch. "Oh, it looks like we're out of time. I'll see you all tomorrow, and don't forget about our lesson today. Keep it in mind."
And with that, everyone began to get up out of their seats and exit the building.
"Camila said we have to go get some groceries for her." Lauren said, pulling out a huge ass list.
I narrowed my eyes at it. "The fuck? Do we even got enough cash for that?"
As if on cue, Lauren pulled out a small envelope. "Yup. She gave me some."
I stared at her with a dumbfounded expression. "Bitch just met you yesterday and she trusted you more with her cash? I mean, c'mon, you're the more passionate addict between the both of us.
"Well I mean, she did say she was going to do the math and if she finds that even a spec of the money she was supposed to get back is missing, she'll kick us both out." Lauren explained.
I pondered over it for a second.
"Eh," I replied. "That makes sense."
We went to go to a nearby ACME down the street, since it was the most convenient for us. The only problem was that it was on the same road as the crack houses, which was a red flag for me.
I didn't really warn Lauren about it, since I didn't want her to have to worry about it. We most likely wouldn't even come across anyone anyway.
Once we were inside the store, Lauren looked at the first item on the list.
"We need to get some stuff from the deli line. I'll go do that alright? You can go get the bread and milk." she told me.
I nodded, and went ahead and grabbed a shopping cart.
As I was riding away, Lauren suddenly yelled after me. "DINAH!"
"WHAT?" I screamed back, already anxious.
"Make it potato bread!" Lauren answered. "She wants potato bread!"
My mouth gaped open. Potato bread? What kinda shit-?
Whatever. I shook my head. Potato bread it is.
I headed to the other side of the store, and down the correct aisle.
As I was looking for the supposed 'potato bread', I heard a jumble of footsteps behind me.
I whipped my head around to see if anyone was there, only to find that the footsteps were now getting louder and were behind me again.
Before I could turn around once more, something was thrown over my head, and I was being dragged away.
Of course I would get jumped in the fucking potato bread aisle. The one place in the store where there were no traces of human life.
I screamed frantically, trying to kick and punch at my attackers, only to find that whatever noise I was trying to make was incredibly muffled, and my efforts of fighting back were pointless.
Analyzing the situation some more, I realized that there was definitely more than one person carrying this out.
I felt a burst of wind against my body, a sign that we were now outside, probably by exiting one of the back doors that nobody really used either.
