Texas’s POV

I looked over a Jessie to find that he as once again checking the time on his phone.  He’s been really concerned with what time it is all day.  I was suspicious of that phone call he got earlier, too.  He hadn’t said much and didn’t even tell me who it was that called.  Something is going on, and I desperately want to know what it is.  The only thing I can think of it being is that someone is planning something and Jessie’s in on it.  If that’s the case, then I’ll probably find out sooner or later.  But there’s no guarantee that that’s what it is.  And it’s not like he’ll tell me if I ask.  We pull up to the house and Jessie looks around nervously. There are a lot of cars parked on the side of the street, but none of them are in front of the house.  Maybe one of the neighbors is have a party.  I get out of the car and walk up to the front door, leaving the bags behind.  I can get them later.  I open the door.

“Surprise!”  I jump about three feet in the air.

“Oh my god.”  I say.  There’s nothing else I can think of to say to what I’ve just walked into.

Jayy’s POV

“I think now would be a good time to start worrying.”  Valery says.

“About what?”  Escence asks.

“About what Dahvie’s planning.”  I can’t help but smile.

“Knowing Dahvie, it’ll be something big and something we’ll never be expecting.”  I say calmly.

“No.  Knowing Dahvie it’ll be a party.”  Sally corrects.

“Yeah, it’ll most likely be a party.”  I agree.  We all laugh.  I pull up to the house and we get out.  I run up to the door and open it, expecting to be bombarded by people.

“Surprise!”  Dahvie and Jeffery shout happily.  I look around, confused.  Then see Texas and Jessie standing to the side of the door.  Texas has a little puppy in his arms.

“Oh my God!  Puppy!”  Valery and Escence cry at the same time.  Texas hands the puppy to Val.  It’s a little Irish Setter puppy.

“His name is Rusty.”  Dahvie tells us.

“You got a dog?  Seriously?”  Sally asks.

“We thought you were planning a party or something.”  I say, slightly disappointed.  I like dogs, but I was really looking forward to a party.

“Oh quit complaining Jayy.  I’ll take a puppy over a party any day.”  Val says, cooing the second part to the puppy.  We all roll our eyes.  Escence doesn’t of course, since she’s cooing to the puppy herself.  I don’t know how I couldn’t tell they were related until they told us; they’re exactly the same!  Val comes over to me.  “Hold out your arms.”  She says.

“I really don’t want to.”  I say.

“Jayy, hold out your arms.”  She repeats sternly.  I sigh and hold my arms out.  She puts the little dog in them.  He squirms around in my arms and likes my cheek.  I can’t help but smile.

“See, it’s not that bad.”  Escence says.  I have to admit, the longer I hold Rusty, the more I fall in love with him.  Maybe coming home to a puppy instead of a party isn’t so bad after all.

I know, this chapter is extremely short.  I just wanted to finish with what I started writing yesterday.  Since I started writing the chapter yesterday I’ve been trying to decide if the surprise was going to be a party or a puppy.  I had actually decided on the party but changed my mind at the last second because I know none of you were expecting it to be a puppy.  I’m gonna start writing the next chapter as soon as I post this, so it should be up later today.  I actually woke up this morning and came up with the idea for the next chapter.  Thanks for reading.  Love ya all- Amanda <3.
