Y/N's Point Of View
It was a calm day in your average hospital room. Shawn laid on the bed (which I thanked God I never got to experience because it's too uncomfortable for my liking) flipping through a magazine. Recently, he had undergone an operation and wasn't feeling too well. As a result, he had to stay some extra time and the doctors were suggesting that he took an injection. Although, that hadn't been discussed I just overheard it in a conversation between nurses.
I had decided not to tell Shawn because he had a fear of injections and this would only cause him anxiety. Besides, it wasn't my job to do that; it was the doctors'.
Talking about doctors, one came in wearing a white lab coat and a stethoscope around his neck.
"Good morning, Shawn. How are you today?" he greeted with a happy grin.
"Good, doctor, thank you. Any news for when I can go home?" he asked, hopeful.
"No... we have heard you've been struggling with pain and that's very typical after an operation. I have decided that it would be best to give you an injection."
Turning to look at Shawn, his eyes widened.
"N-no!"
The doctor looked confused so I filled in the gaps. "He's extremely terrified of injections."
"Oh, I see. Well, this one won't hurt. I can assure you and it would make the pain go away in a matter of hours."
I turned to Shawn again.
"No."
"Yes."
Shawn looked at me. "What?"
"I think it would be good for you," I explained. "Pain would go away and maybe you could lose the fear of injections."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
Shawn pursed his lips.
"So is it a yes?" the doctor asked.
"Sure..." Shawn muttered.
"Perfect. It'll be scheduled for tomorrow morning at around eight," he told. "I shall see you then." He walked out.
I went back to my phone but heard a sniffing noise and looked up to see Shawn with tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Hey, hey," I cooed and sat beside him, taking my hand in his. "It's okay. You don't need to worry nor do you need to cry."
"I don't want to do it, Y/N." His voice cracked.
"I know... I know. But everything's going to be okay."
He nodded.
"So don't worry, baby." I pecked his lips.

Later during that night, I was attempting to sleep on the uncomfortable couch. I swear, everything in hospitals are uncomfortable: the beds, the couches, the chairs even the feeling they give you.
I hear a slight rummaging sound as I wake up while turning around. As I do that, I see Shawn dressed and packing a bag. Immediately, I get up.
"Shawn?"
"Shit."
"What are you doing?" I flicked on the light.
"I can't do it. I'm trying, Y/N, but I'm struggling to accept it."
"I promise you that I'll hold your hand and you can squeeze it as hard as you want," I suggested. "And you can have all the muffins you want after that."
He shook his head. "I can't."
I pursed my lips and thought about it a different way. "Consider this as an opportunity to let go of your fear. It would be amazing, wouldn't it?"
He nodded.
"Exactly. I believe in you, Shawn. I always have and always will. Just like you believed in me when I thought what I wanted to do was impossible. So... will you?"
He sighed. "Okay. Yeah. I'll let them stick a needle inside of me for five seconds."
I giggled at his way of seeing it. "Good."
The following morning, Shawn went trough with it, almost broke the bones in my hand but I didn't care as long as he was ok. When it was over, I couldn't believe his words.
"Is that it?"
That was what I called an improvement.
"Yeah," the doctor replied. "I'll leave you two alone."
Every nurse walked out with him.
Shawn looked at me with a winning smile and I hug him tightly. Then, happily kissed his lips, passionately.
"I'm proud of you," I whispered. "And also..." I went to my bag. "I got these..." I got out muffins for both of us.
He grinned
