peter;

"A carmel latte with whipped cream, there you go" Peter said and gave the takeaway cup to the woman. She snatched the cup out of his hand before she hurried away, not bothering to say thank you. Peter sighed before he started making another latte.'Thank God Its Christmas' by Queen were playing from the speakers connected to Peter's phone. It was three pm a Monday afternoon. Snowflakes were slowly falling down from the sky, down onto the streets of Queens.

An old couple were softly talking to each other in the cafe, holding hands over the table. The man took a sip of his black coffee, his eyes filled with love and adoration as he listened to his wife talking about her day. A small smile formed on Peter's lips as he thought about the day that he and his love would do the same thing. The little bell over the door made a sound and his eyes traveled to the person who walked inside the coffee shop.

Small glistening snowflakes were caught in her blonde shoulder length hair. Her skin had the most beautiful ivory color, small freckles splattered over her rosy cheeks and nose. Her lips were a rosy color, a bit chapped from the cold weather. Her eyes caught Peter's and she smiled warmly at him. His breath got caught in his throat as she walked towards him, eyes shimmering with kindness. Her green eyes scanned the menu behind him before she smiled at him again.

  "Hello!" She said in a British accent, her voice deep but still sweet as honey. "I'll have a gingerbread latte with whipped cream, takeaway please." Peter nodded before he gulped.

   "Something else?" He asked her nervously. She nodded and started looking for something in her tote bag.

   "Can you put it in here please?" She asked and handed him a light blue thermo mug with small reindeers and snowflakes on it. Peter nodded and gently took the mug from her hands. She smiled at him before putting her card in the card terminal.

"That'll be six dollars." She nodded and pressed the buttons.

  "Lovely weather today, isn't it." She said cheerfully. Peter nodded before he started to make her latte. "I just love the winter!"

"Yeah it's beautiful" Peter said, smiling kindly at her. She smiled back before Peter had to turn around. He poured the latte in her thermos mug before he spritzed whipped cream on top of it, sprinkling some cinnamon on top. He put the lid on and gave her the mug.

  "Thank you so much! Have a nice day and Happy Christmas!" She said before she started to walk towards the door, her dark grey coat swinging around her legs.

"Same to you!" Peter said. She gave him a smile and a wave before she opened the door and disappeared among the people of Queens. Peter couldn't help but wonder who the girl was and if she were single. She was the kind of girl that anybody could fall for and had a smile that lit up the day. Peter really wanted to know her name and he only hoped that he would see her again.
