kate patrolled the halls quietly, hand on her wand. percy walked beside her, also quiet. the two had struck up a unlikely friendship, they were comfortable next to each other, talking wasn't very important to them.

the two could sit in silence together for hours but still feel like they were bonding.

"i'll walk you back to your common room." percy spoke up as they turned the corridor. as things fell into silence again, a moan echoed through the empty space.

the two head prefects sighed, another couple having sex. it was kate who decided to speak up. "listen, i've seen enough birthday suits to last a lifetime, so percy and i are going to turn our backs and you will put your clothes back on and come out. you've got two minutes, starting now."

the two turned away.

"you reckon one of them is a quidditch jock?" percy asked, smiling at her teasingly. "a galleon says its not.." "a galleon says it is."

the two turned around, ready to see who two were, and to dock house points. oliver and emily. great.

"shit! you won!" kate complained, punchinf percy on the arm. "oh please, one galleon isn't going to make a dent in her highness kate's wallet, also, twenty points from ravenclaw and gryffindor."

"you can escort him to the common room, i'll take the rest of the patrol percy."

"i'm sorry you had to witness that." emily suddenly spoke up as oliver and percy departed. "it has to be hard seeing him with someone else right?"

kate didn't reply, instead staring straight ahead, acting as if emily wasn't there. "he's good in bed you know, why don't you like it?" kate stopped, "he...he... oliver told you that?"

emily smiled victoriously, "yes. it must hurt seeing him with me and knowing he's opening up to me hurts right? that's why you're fooling around with percy."

"what?" kate exclaimed, "i'm not fooling around with anyone!" "sure you aren't-"
"you listen to me now! i'm not dating anyone because i know myself, i need to give myself time to recover and that's when i can even think of other people! and you can go play with oliver all you want but you should know that you're tinkling around with my leftovers! you can have him because i don't want him anymore! and if he cheated on me, what's stopping me from cheating on you?"

"he loves m-"

kate laughed, "he loves you? he wuvs you more than anything in the whole universe?" she mocked in a high pitched tone, emily took a step back, staring at her in surprise. "yeah he told me that too."

"don't bite off more than you can chew emily. and don't try to screw with me again."
