when you keep everything in
and don't allow anything out
eventually
you're going to have to face
the overflow
and if you keep bottling things
inside
you're going to release
more pain
than what you've stored

crash around me;
like the bombs that are exploding,
like the problems that are growing,
like the pain that is sowing,
like the blood that is flowing,
like the frowns that are showing,
like the sun is glowing,
like the poor are groaning,
like the fallen ones are moaning,
like these tears are doing;
never seeming to fall
or evaporate.

hold me close
don't let go
not that i'm letting
my fear show
i just don't want
to lose you tonight
tell me you'll stay
and sing lullabies
let the music
flow through our ears
make the shadows
disappear
as long as we have
you and i
i'll control these fears
and have nothing to hide.

the sky is violet behind you
and it really makes you stand out
during this beautiful, starry night.

i'll slit my wrists
and it'll hurt
but i'll welcome the pain
as long as it hurts more than i feel
because they say the only real way
to get rid of pain is to add more;
new distracts old.
