Roommates!

Chapter 8

Everyone had gotten home from school. It was the third day Jill was locked in the room. Taylor went straight down the hall and to the guest room. She knocked on the door, "Hey Jilly, we're home." No response. "We, uh, we really miss you and hope you're okay, can you please come out?" Silence.

Danny stormed down the hall and moved Taylor to the side, "Fuck it." He had brought his leg up and kicked it at the door, kicking it open. The door swung open, the door knob hitting the wall hard. Everyone else rushed toward the bedroom, peeking their heads into the doorway. The room, well, the room was empty.

Jill was nowhere to be found.

"What the fuck?" Matt spat as he growled.

"Where did she go?" Rex questioned as he didn't really seem surprised. They looked around some more until Abby found a note under the blanket on the bed. "Got something!" She exclaimed before opening the note.

'Hey. Uh, hard to explain. Jokes, not really. Yeah, I ran away. Why? Uh, i've got my own reasons. Anyway, yeah. Sorry, I love y'all so much but, I just had to go. ~Jillybeans.'

Abby crumpled up the note, the others a little surprised.

"Ran away?" Scout questioned aloud, "Was this because of the whole events at the mall?"

"Probably." Danny said with a small sigh, "She could've have gone far, we all know she has horrible endurance."

"But, how long has she been gone?" Abby asked.

"Most likely today when we were at school, or yesterday." Danny said as he walked away from the group and down the hallway, into the kitchen.

Taylor and Matt followed after, "Danny." Taylor said, catching up to him before Matt, "Where do we even begin?"

"I'll take Etai, Scout and Rex with me in my car, we're gonna check some of the nearby fast food places and the mall. Matt you take Taylor and Abby in the van, check wherever else you can think about where she might be."

Matt nodded and called for Abby, Danny calling for the other boys. They rush to the kitchen. Once reaching the kitchen, Danny was already out the door, getting into his car.

"You boys go with Danny," Matt directed, which they didn't question. They exit the house and enter Danny's car, closing the car doors as Danny backs out of the driveway and speeds down the road.

Matt sighs, "Fuck man." He mumbled before grabbing the van keys and exiting the house himself, the two girls following. Matt unlocks the van doors, allowing the girls to open the other doors. They get into the van before driving down the road, catching up to Danny's blue car. Danny takes a right while Matt takes a left.

"Uh, let's try maybe Dutch Bros?" Taylor said in a questioning manner. She knew Jill was kinda obsessed with their smoothies.

"Gotcha." Matt said as he drove toward the nearest Dutch Bros, which wasn't too far, a good 20 minute drive.

While Matt, Abby, and Taylor were off to Dutch Bros, Danny ended up going to the mall with the boys. They park and exit the car, quickly walking into the mall.

"Alright, split up, Scout go check Hot Topic, Etai and Rex check GameStop and Bath and Body Works, and I'll check, uh, Spencer's?" Danny ordered.

"Spencer's?" Scout asked, "You really think Jill's going to be in there? Her innocent, flat ass wouldn't make it in there."

"But she does have inappropriate humor, so it makes up for her innocence." Rex said before he started to walk away with Etai.

"Whatever, Jill thinks it's funny to see all the weird shit in there." Danny said as he started walking off too.
