Roommates!

Chapter 31

"Hell yeah!" Exclaimed Jill, full of excitement and glee. She hasn't been to the river since she was with her parents, she hasn't gone for a good few years. The gang were currently unloading their trunks and cars.

"I see someone's excited." Taylor said with a small laugh,

"Of course i am dawg, the river is fuckin cool man!" Jill said as she grabbed her inner tube and put it around her. The others just smiled at the girl as they all grabbed the items they needed for the trip.

They were all on the side of the river, looking around as they noticed how actually packed it was. There wasn't many people in the water but on the sides having parties and shit. "Wow i didn't actually think people came here." David said.

"Well ya better start believing it, cuz they do!" Jill said as she threw her inner tube into the water, before jumping into it and drifting away.

"Hey Jill! Wait up!" Scout shouted, throwing his inner tube into the water and jumping on it, kicking his legs in the water toward Jill.

"Wait for us!" Abby exclaimed, everyone else throwing their inner tubes into the water and following after.

The group ended up being divided. Jill, Danny, and Scout were altogether. Etai and Abby were together, Taylor and Ellie, Rex and David.

Rex brought a little plastic baggie to put his phone in. He played games on his phone most of the time. David did the same.

Abby and Etai were laughing about old minecraft videos they loved. Abby's giggling brought a smile to Etai's face, and a warm feeling in his stomach.

Taylor and Ellie didn't know each other well, but they tried their best to talk and get along. They weren't too terribly different, they did end up getting along quite quickly.

Jill, Scout, and Danny were quite preoccupied with themselves. Danny and Scout were flipping each other into the water, while Jill sat untouched in her inner tube, laughing like crazy.

They all stayed close, so they wouldn't drift away from one another in case something were to happen.

Scout flipped Danny over once more before jumping into his inner tube and swimming away.

"Pussy!" Jill shouted, snorting afterwards. Danny stood up and shook his head, like a dog would to dry himself off. Water drops flew from his hair, some onto Jill.

"Watch it!" Jill snapped, but she was joking.

"Whatever skeleton." Danny said with a laugh.

Jill gasped over dramatically, "I'm offended! I'm no skeleton!"

"Really?" Danny said, "Then explain the zero meat on your bones."

"BAH STOP!" Jill yelled, flipping Danny off.

"Haha yeeeah you know i'm right." Danny laughed, getting back into his inner tube and the two drifted back to the group.

Scout was over by Rex and David, chatting it up with them for a bit.

Etai and Abby were now relaxing, Abby wore sunglasses so the sun wouldn't kill her eyeballs. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in the cool air and the nice water. Etai couldn't help but look at Abby. His smile only grew bigger, he couldn't help the butterflies in his stomach. They were going crazy.

"So, hows it goin' with you and that Matt boy?" Ellie questioned, nudging Taylor in the arm.

"Oh please, we're just friends." Taylor said, shaking her head.

"Don't 'oh please' me! I can see right through you, the way you two look at each other, can't fake that shit!" Ellie said, Taylor blushed but shook her head once more.

"Say no all you want, i know what's up." Ellie said and winked at Taylor. Taylor just laughed, she found Ellie bold and interesting.

The group were all chatting among each other until Jill totally flipped out. "WAIT! EVERYONE STOP!" Jill flipped out of her inner tube, almost dying as she caught her balance. The water rushed passed her but Danny was able to catch her in time. He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her up.

Jill laughed, "Thanks Danny boy! Now, that mountain!" Jill pointed up to the mountain before them, everyone stopped their inner tubes and looked.

"What about it?" Rex asked, his arms crossed his arms.

"Me and my family used to jump from their into the water, it's so much fun!" Jill exclaimed as she grabbed her inner tube, and pulled it behind her to the mountain.

Everyone looked at one another before shrugging. They followed Jill as she went up the mountain, she parked her inner tube on the side of the river, everyone did the same. Jill climbed the top of the mountain (which wasn't very tall), standing on the cliff.

Jill looked down and her heart stopped, she did not remember it being so high up. She stared down at the water, her eyes going in and out of focus. Her breathing slowed, her thoughts being clouded.

The others reach the top of the mountain, seeing Jill looking over the edge. Scout panicked and rushed to her side, grabbing her and pulling her away, "Hey.." He said quietly. Jill immediately snapped out of her thoughts as she turned to Scout, pulling the biggest smile onto her face, "Hey! You guys made it up! Finally." She said.

Scout was worried but knew Jill would be fine. It's been months since the incident, but he still worries. Everyone seems to have forgotten about it, but not Scout.

Anyway, everyone else looks over the ledge, "Holy shit, this is super high!" Abby exclaimed.

Jill and Scout looked at each other and just started cracking up. Abby looked at the two confused, "What's so funny?" She asked.

"Nothing, it's nothing." Scout said as their laughter died down. Abby just rolled her eyes, walking to the ledge.

"Alrighty, who's going first-?" She began but was cut off.

"CANONBALL!" Screamed Etai as he ran past them all, jumping off the ledge and bringing his legs up, hugging them as gravity pulls him down toward the water.

Abby gasped as Etai lands in the water, causing a huge splash. Etai stays under for a moment before his head pops up from under the water. "WOO!" He shouts, giving a thumbs up to them. They all laughed at Etai.

"Whatta man!" Scout said as he decided he would go next. He backed up before getting a running start. Scout sprinted down and off the cliff, down into the water and creating a bigger splash then Etai.

"Me next!" Abby said, and that's how they spent the rest of their time.

After everyone jumped off the cliff and into the water, they began to splash and horse around with one another, having a blast and way too much fun.
