Prisons in China were always pretty creepy looking. The only reason why I came here was because of Aniki. I still don't understand why he would work here of all places. I have yet to actually understand why. I let out a sigh. Maybe the problem was that I don't understand him. I went to Aniki's office and notice that he wasn't in there. His table was a mess though, it was filled scatted papers, documents, and some discarded books. I walked up to it and started to organize it. 'Honestly, Aniki should learn how to keep his office in better condition. He's too professional, and serious, to be looking like a slob.' I thought to myself as I continued to clean up.
But as I continued organizing things, I quickly noticed that some of the papers were information of inmates from different prisons. I was unnerved by what every prisoner had one thing in common with each other. "Theses inmates were human experiments...." I said to myself quietly. Who would do such a thing to a human being? I continued to read through the papers, flipping through pages after pages. Each one was more disturbing and horrifying than the last. As it turns out, half of the inmates that brought to each prisons went missing within a few day and/or weeks upon arriving. "No way... this place..in the west prison..and the north as well, has missing convicts. Nothing even mentions of their whereabouts or how they gone missing. There isn't even any mentioning of whether or not they were moved to an isolation cell or to a hospital."
I flipped to another page and skimmed through it. This one caused my eyes widened in shock. There's a wide range from death row convicts to those with minor offences. The only thought that ran through my mind, 'What was Aniki doing with these documents?' I wasn't sure if I should ask him about it. Even if I did, I know for certain he would give me a harsh scolding and tell to stay out of it. I put the papers down back on the desk and sighed. Aniki, what are you getting into? I shook my head and smiled. No, I'm sure that whatever Aniki is up to, I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about. I then bumped my fist in the air and smiled, feeling determination surging through me.
"Alright! I'll help Aniki! It'll show him that I'm useful to him!" A day later, I've been watching Aniki's every move to see what I can help him with. And so far, there was nothing much for me to help. Ugh, so disappointing. However, I have noticed him talking to the other inmates. I wondered what that was all about. Hmm...but it did seemed interesting.
I started gathering data of the inmates he was talking to, to see what I can find out more about them. Afterwards, I finished, packed everything I wrote down and went to his office to him my findings. But when I got there, Aniki wasn't in his office. It was odd as he usually here by this time. Where did he go? I suddenly felt a little mischievous as I smiled and decided to hide. I know this was stupid, but I couldn't help myself. I haven't done this since I was a kid, and he always caught. Hopefully, not this time. After a while of waiting, I heard Aniki's footsteps, signalling his returned. I felt a little excited, I was going to try surprising him and finally break that stoic face of his.
"What do you want Samon?" Aniki suddenly said. How in the hell did he....aww, no fair. He barely entered the room and he found me out so quickly. Guess that's another fail on my part. I got out of my hiding spot and scratched my cheek. My face got warm as I was embarrassed by getting caught. I let out a nervous laugh as I said, "Ah man... so I was found out after all. I thought I hid myself perfectly this time, too. You're way to good at this Aniki."
I then smiled and walked up to him, giving him the stack of papers that I've got. "Here." I said said, holding it up to him. I was caught off guard when, for the briefest moment, he looked surprised. However, it didn't last very long as he quickly reverted back to his emotionless self. He looked up at me and I smiled at him again. I felt happy. I thought that I was finally being proven useful for my Aniki. "These are data for the inmates you were talking to earlier, Ani...Supervisor." I quickly corrected myself. "It doesn't cover everything, but I had them help me out with some stuff. Youriki is gonna bring me a new one later to-"
